Is it better to follow the ninja cleaning instructions (using the 4hr cleaning feature), or do as this solution says and just run a regular cycle?

The “cleaning light” doesn’t sense cleanliness; it only goes out if the programmed cycle is run. Of course, it won’t go out if solution is run through a regular brewing cycle. The reminder light comes on again after a set number of cycles, usually, not because mineral deposits are sensed. (By the time build up would cause abnormal pressures, it’s too late.) Delonghi Magnifica, for example, provides water hardness testing strips to determine how long between descaling, less frequent for soft water, more frequent for hard water.

Can this product be used in a Delonghi?

I've used it on a Delonghi Magnifica machine. Trouble is, you never know if it's doing the job. The white granule packets I used in the past, I could reuse after a cycle for getting stains out of the steel travel cup. This stuff, after a cycle, doesn't do squat for the cup, so I'm wondering if it's doing anything for the machine.
