What a Fantastic Little Light
This is such a great little tent lamp, upon opening the box I was surprised how small and lightweight it was and I didn't think it would stand a chance of illuminating our large 8 berth tent but how wrong I was.It took a good few hours to charge but I loved the fact that there is a USB output so you can use this as a bank up power bank if needed. It comes with the clips needed to hold it on the ceiling of the tent and it provides enough light to allow reading while on a camping chair below. I've seen brighter lights but not as compact as this, and sometimes the brightest of lights just seem to give off too much glare whereas this gives off a nice even spread of light. We've used it for a week of summertime camping without the batteries struggling, you can always buy extra 18650 battery cells if you intend on being away from a power source for an extended period as these can be changed as easily as an AA (or you could hook it up to a solar panel during the day to charge it up). Please click the helpful button below if you found my review in any way useful.

Does as it says
Very good. Held charge well- over 12 hours on high setting. Can charge phones (never tested how long or how many times but by the size of the batteries around 2 iPhone charges. Wonderful bright light, was able to play board games under it on the dim setting. Well recommended

Ideal for camping
Fab little light. Smaller than I thought but was perfect as took up no room packing. 3 light settings. Nice and lightweight so hung inside the tent perfectly. We charged it fully before we went and used it for 4 nights and battery still seems good.

Didnt work. flashing red light was only light it gave out. Waste of time.
Had to return item as even after over 48 hrs of charging it didn't work. All the light did was flash red all the time, no bright white light. Obviously faulty. Seller not much help. Would not buy a replacement of the same item or from this seller. Disappointed as there are good reviews for this priduct but maybe the new cours are not as good as original product.

quality issues twice
The lantern's shape follows from the original non-rechargeable type, then the rechargeable type which used a non-micro-USB plug type. These both had a characteristic I liked, that is 3 well spaced white modes including a very low white mode. The new model has only two white modes and a red mode instead of low white. The new model is much improved, better plastic and better protection against moisture. A small detail I don't like is that to switch off it is necessary to cycle through the remaining modes. Many other brands usually switch off directly after a few seconds of on. I'm puzzled that the USB output can only be accessed by opening the battery cover. Other brands manage to fit both USB input and output on the outside. Finally it's potentially useful that any button topped 18650 can be used. I plan to use a single Panasonic 3400mAh instead of two cells because two non-matched cells in parallel can cause problems. The two own-branded cells provided were originally non-matched according to my charger which also now reports only half the stated capacity after only a few charge cycles. Not totally corroborated though other better branded cells report close to rated capacity. Now done a run-time test which confirms the batteries are half stated capacity. All that said a nice hanging lantern. If it wasn't I would return it due to the battery capacity issue. May still as minus batteries it's a pricey lantern.I returned it because of the low capacity batteries. I tried again a year later and this time the chrome plating was flaking off. This is not a cheap product so not acceptable. A pity as it has a nice spec and appearance.

Full Marks
Bought this for camping. Have to say I am glad I paid the extra over the similar looking other lights out there. The ability to angle this is very useful and it does stay where you angle it to. It is also very bright on "high" and we often found the the "low" setting was more than enough in our tent. The red light it emits is also very useful and gives a more moody light but with enough brightness to allow seeing to move around.I charged it before leaving and after 4 nights it's still as bright as first use so cannot comment on how long the two rechargeable batteries will last.Really pleased with this item as it's compact and very versatile. Please remember this is not the same as many of the other similar items. The only small issue I would not like to test is it's water resistance as it looks like it could succumb easy to wet due to a very small seal around the battery compartment. Of coarse I could e wrong but I would hate to lose this light in trying this out so it will be staying dry.

Extremely useful camping light.
This small and well-made light uses multiple LEDs and is powered from two 18650 Lithium rechargeable cells.I am very impressed with the light output, even the 'dim' setting is adequate in a small tent.I use a separate mains-powered dedicated charger for the batteries, but you can charge from a USB 5V power source, though it will take longer. The only criticism I have is that it uses 18650 cells with the 'pip' on the +ve end (you get two supplied with the light), so the more common type that are flat at each end (as some people get from dismantled old laptop battery packs) will not make contact.
