Scurrilous as ever
Firstly, this is the most recent ‘season’ available as a boxed set; released in the uk in November 2018. I’m not sure whether it’s being shown on UK tv at the moment, there are so many channels showing ‘new’ which often means new to the channel but is a repeat of an earlier season. As for the content, this is typical Family Guy. Irreverent, near the knuckle (well over in some instances...how do they get away with it!?) and blisteringly funny.Emmy Winning EpisodeFox in the Men HouseNanny GoatsFollow the MoneyThree DirectorsThe D in Apartment 23PeteylVCrimes and Meg’s DemeanourDon’t be a Dickens at ChristmasBoy (Dog) Meets Girl(Dog)Dog Bites BearSend in Stewie PleaseV is for MysteryVeteran GuyThe Woof of Wall StreetFamily Guy Through the YearsSwitch the FlipHTTPPeteThe Unkindest CutAre You There God, it’s me, Peter. It’s impossible to pick a favourite episode; I liked the one where Quagmire loses his favourite body part. Hilarious. And Stewie with the child psychologist where he ends up analysing the psych is priceless. Still, for me, the funniest show ever. A few extras, but who cares with all the other stuff.

Massive list of producers, count them. More chiefs than Indians?
Series hit a low in volume 16 but since then has picked up, and then some. Here the producers...and there are a lot of them, check the credits...play with format changes and have a slightly more mature approach to "political incorrectness"; after all non-PC people are a minority demographic and must be represented, as the opening episode clearly exaggerates. While you check the credits, and if you don't get tired of counting producers, exec producers, co-exec producers and supervising producers, you'll notice the periodic reshuffling of well known "names" of the series, such as Alex Borstein. This reshuffling always presages a change in the direction of the series, evidenced here.

Has Family Guy had its day?
I am not really impressed with Family Guy nowadays. Some of the episodes are amusing but it seems to be succumbing to the PC brigade. As for the episode, Send in Stewie Please: this has got to be the worst episode ever. Does anyone really find green snot funny? I won't be watching that episode again. Perhaps Seth MacFarlane and co should quit while they are ahead. The quality of the product has taken a hit as well. The discs have no coloured centre labels as in all previous years: instead just printed black ink. There is no cardboard slipcase as with other years. The region code is shown as Region 2 NTSC, not Region 2 PAL. Could it be that Fox are losing faith in Family Guy?

Missed the target this time!
Having all the seasons of Family Guy, this is a let down to be honest. After reading other people's comments (NTSC format, fuzzy format, just weird in general etc), I thought well I'm sure it will be alright as it has never let me down in the past. The format is NTSC and has not been altered to PAL, this makes no difference to the format and it isn't fuzzy at all on screen. It's identical to other seasons, the only difference is - as you can see from the main screen (pic 4). It's static with no movement, or even sound which is unusual for a family guy DVD start up menu screen. The DVD's as you can see are unusually non-graphic and the full DVD outlay is different to usual seasons - it does not relate at all to the quality of the viewing at all. They are official DVD's and work just like other seasons.Sadly it's the content personally for me that fails to hit the target, the episodes lack the usual comedy that is associated with this series. It comes across exceptionally exhausted and tired, like the writers could do with an iron pick me up IV. I'm hoping this is a blip in the schedule and things get back on track with the new season, otherwise I will have to do paperwork in silence without a fun friend in the background making me laugh (who has kept me going for years)!
