So, this is a nice, versatile lid that allows both straw and sipping. The straw hole doubles as an airhole when I use the sipping option so that the liquid comes out easily when I take a drink. It's easy to clean by hand and in the dishwasher. The center straw hole plug feels like it's silicon and can be easily removed for cleaning.The downside to this, which is the reason it's not earning 5 stars, is that it's not spill proof. It's splash resistant in the car if everything is closed up. However, when I had it in my lunch bag the other day and the cup tilted during driving (didn't completely tip, just tilted) I noticed liquid on the outside of the lid, so I knew the lid did not successfully contain everything inside during the short, less than 10 minutes car ride to work. I am also a very gentle, feather-footed driver, so I know it was jostled much.Final thoughts? If you're looking for a very secured, spill-proof lid, keep looking elsewhere. If you just want something that'll keep the content inside the cup while you're holding it and taking a walk or driving it with your cup being in a cup holder, this is more than adequate and gives you the straw option as well. It won't fit thick straws, though, just thin ones.Would recommend.
