It connects easily to Wi-Fi and lets you monitor all your cooks remotely, much like WIFIRE on a Traeger or the Meater sold in stores — but at a fraction of the price. It’s affordable, durable, and works flawlessly with my iPhone. I get a perfect cook every time, whether I’m using it on the smoker, BBQ grill, air fryer, or oven. The app is easy to use, and I even showed my fiancée how to monitor our cooks — now she loves it too! The accuracy and convenience of this thermometer make it a must-have for anyone who loves cooking. Highly recommend for anyone wanting consistently perfect results without the hassle. After years of relying on a combination of my pellet grill's temperature probe and my trusty instant read thermometer, I decided to get into the 21st century and invest in a wireless probe. Not wanting to spend a bunch of money, I saw that this was on sale and I figured that if it didn't work I wouldn't be out too much money. As I write this, I'm using it. It arrived last night and I went through the setup process. It was SO easy to set up and the app is nice and simple to use. I started my pork butt cook at 7am this morning and the probe has worked flawlessly! I compared the temperature readings to my instant read and they're within a degree of each other, so I know that what it's registering is accurate. To be honest, this isn't a huge game-changer for me as I've been smoking meat for years and have a process down. But I do like the fact that I can monitor my temperature remotely. I think where it will be the most impactful is in overnight cooks. I won't have to go out to my smoker I'm the middle of the night to check my temps. I can do that from the comfort of my bed! Though I've only used it once so far, I'm very satisfied with it. It seems to be rugged and made for the long haul. I'm looking forward to future cooks! Update: I've now done several cooks with the thermometer. My experience with it has been mostly positive. For tracking internal temperature, this probe is very accurate and right in line with my instant read thermometer. My only nit is that the ambient temperature sensor is a little finicky. It is slow to update, and I usually must wait 20-30 minutes for it to report the ambient temperature correctly. Not only that, you have to make sure that the probe depth line is right at the surface of the meat. I found that the margin for error is really slim with this. But other than that, it works great, and the app has made it so easy to track the cooking rate. My Thanksgiving turkey was spot-on this year and the probe helped immensely!

This is my new favorite cooking tool. It cooks meat in just the right amount of temperature and considers carry-over effect so the meat does not get too overcooked. The multiple sensors in the probe needle is one of the hallmarks of this brand. It ensures every part of the meat is cooked at an appropriate temperature. Most needles only have 1 temperature sensor at the tip, but this one has FIVE. It shows where the temperature is at at each of the five parts of the probe on the app and gives me peace of mind of thorough cooking. Another useful feature I love is the app tells you how much estimated time is available, which is useful to gauge what other stuff I can be doing while the meat is cooking. It’s usb rechargeable and the life of the probe lasts a considerable good amount of time. Overall, 5/5 would recommend to anyone that loves cooking or grilling.

The thermometer is handy and worked great for our Thanksgiving turkey. It seems to be accurate and it's nice there's a companion app. It is a little long for other purposes--I couldn't get a good reading in a salmon filet, and with chicken it was hard to tell whether the probe is reaching into the cavity or embedded in meat. The iOS app is also hit-or-miss. It's great that it gives you a predicted end time, which is constantly updated and seems fairly accurate, better than my guessing. But with notifications on, it sent me a push notification more than once per minute with an updated time, even if the time hadn't changed, which was a little absurd for a 3.5 hour turkey cook. It's also a little unintuitive figuring out how to end a cook--there is no mechanism for that in the app. Instead you have to power off the thermometer base.

This feedback is primarily for the seller, rather than the product. The product was very nice, as described, and worked perfectly for our Thanksgiving turkey. It was very helpful to monitor the temperature rise during roasting, and it came out perfect. But... it seems I accidentally discarded the temperature probe with the turkey carcass! I contacted ThermoMaven directly to see if I could purchase a replacement probe, and they said they didn't sell them... but they'd send me one, for free. I received it shortly but it wouldn't charge in the base unit. When I contacted the company, they said it might be an older version probe, and rather than repeat the mistake they said they'd send an enitire replacement thermometer base unit and probe. This is customer service WAY beyond what I expected, and certainly above and beyond anything they were obligated to. Also, they responded to every e-mail in under 24 hours. Amazing.

I used it several times for chicken and steak and I love it. You can connect to the base with the thermomaven app and see a live graph on your phone with the 4 temperature sensors. You can also use the base controller alone without the app, set target temperature and turn the beep on/off

This is a great product. Have used it numerous times on all kinds of products... beef, fish, chicken, pork. It has yet to disappoint.! Gives you a 5 minute heads up when to remove from the heat source. Then alerts you when rest period is over and cook is complete. You have the magnetic base which is also a monitor, but as a backup, you just have to download the free app and you can also monitor from your cell phone. It has never given me any reception issues, or concerns of any kind. I would highly recommend!👍

Very easy to set up and use. Friendly "app".

This is a super well-built device. If you barbecue full cuts of meat you should definitely get it. It wasn't the best for me because I usually cook smaller cuts of meat and you are required to insert the probe deep enough to get to the safety line. Unfortunately that's not compatible with the size of cuts I usually cook. I just wish it came with a shorter probe and a longer probe. For this reason I had to return it.
