An okay sambal
It’s not bad but the value for money size wise is poor

Memories of my childhood
My anglo-Indian grandparents ran one of the first Asian food shops in London from their home in the sixties. I remember the name Ikan Bilis and when I opened this jar and tried a spoonful it took me back 50 years. It's crunchy and wickedly hot. I didn't know it was a South Korean food stuff until very recently. I loved it.

Nigella’s fave
Nigella Lawson raved about this on her latest eat repeat etc series so I went straight onto Amazon and ordered some. It’s not cheap but omg if you like it hot it’s amazing. We are on our 4th jar. Indulgent but worth it and so different from the chilli jam type stuff.

Disappointed
Basically this is just another type of chilli oil no taste of ikan bilis

Too pricey too oily
It’s very oily, and have little resemblance to the description. I guess those bilis got chopped up real fine. Overall big disappointment. There’s plenty left.....not worth the money paid. I have had the prawn version from supermarket, that’s also full of oil, very hot, for under £3 if I recall. Subjective opinion.
