DOMETIC CFX2 45-Liter

I’ve been using the Dometic CFX2 28-Liter for a few months now, and it’s exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether I’m on a weekend camping trip, road-tripping, or just need some extra fridge space, this unit performs flawlessly. What I like: • Compact but roomy: The 28L size is perfect for a few days’ worth of food and drinks. It fits easily in the back of my SUV without taking up too much space. • Cools fast and holds temps well: It cools down quickly and keeps items ice cold—even when parked in the sun. I’ve used it as both a fridge and freezer and it handles both with no problem. • Quiet and efficient: It’s surprisingly quiet when running and doesn’t drain my battery, even during overnight use with my portable power station. • Easy to use: The digital display and controls are intuitive, and it connects to my phone via Bluetooth for quick adjustments and monitoring. Overall, the Dometic CFX2 28L is an outstanding portable fridge/freezer. It’s well-built, energy efficient, and gives me peace of mind knowing my food and drinks are safe no matter where I go. Highly recommended for campers, overlanders, or anyone needing reliable portable refrigeration.

The button was broken to raise the temp. We could only make it cooler. It ran very quietly and seemed like a high quality cooler but unfortunately was not adjustable. They refunded our money so I have no problem with them. If the buttons had all worked I’m sure I would have loved this cooler.

So far ive had this unit running constantly 24hrs a day for the last month and have had no issues.

We purchased the Dometic because we were tired of ice anxiety with our Yeti cooler during long camping trips. The Dometic was fantastic. We filled it full of food and drinks and kept the temp at 27 degrees over 9 days with no issues. Definitely worth the investment as we were able to keep a larger variety of food AND bring home the leftovers! We ran it off of a Jackery and two solar panels. The Dometic was incredibly efficient and ran all day using only about 35% of the battery.

Good product, this is my second one. Fits perfect in my van and actually matches my interior.

I've had an Engel portable freezer for about 10 years. Use it on fishing trips for when I fill up the RV freezer and need more freezer space. It has worked great but is very heavy. Going on a longer trips and decided a second small freezer is the best option to fit in the RV. Was about to order a second Engel when I came across the Dometic. I have a couple other of their products and have always been impressed. The Dometic was much cheaper than the Engel and also much lighter. So far I've only tested in the garage. Froze a glass of water fast enough for me and oh man the weight difference is amazing. So much light than the Engel of the same size. Build quality is very nice.

Used it several times now for my deep desert camping trips. Perfect for one or two people for a few days. Keeps things plenty cool. Since it doesn't have a separate freezer compartment, you need to be a little aware of the temp setting so as not to freeze your frig food. I use a portable battery inverter and it will go for days with just that.

Didn't even bother to unbox this. All of the pictures and even the Dometic manual show the hinges on the long side. That's why I bought it. Fact is the hinges are on the short side and the lid opens lengthwise. This doesn't work in our application and I immediately returned it. Reduced to one star after I noticed that the unit had a physical defect inside the tub. Expensive junk. Have to revert to our Yeti for the road trip because of this nonsense.
