Is there any Protection from ghiardia and similar in shower filters?

Shower head is too heavy to be held up by the bracket! Solution?

Ours is holding up find; very sturdy. Perhaps the bracket is not the right type to use. Have had many other hand held shower heads before and using same bracket.
