Rockport Women's Marta Walking Shoe

These are great for the typical woman; my wife loves hers. However, when I bought a pair of men's, they weren't wide enough, and they were one size too short. I took my measurements off a calibrated shoe sizing device (as found in a shoe store). The "typical woman" here: I *love* these shoes. They fit perfectly, and are very comfortable.

I have been buying the Marta women's walking shoe made by Rockport for several years, in all three colors, black, white and off white. I wear orthotics and the insert that comes with the shoe lifts right out and makes room for the orthotic. The shoes last well and are comfortable from the first moment you have them on your feet. I have chronic plantar fasciitis and these shoes plus the orthotics help me to keep the pain away. I am on my feet a lot and recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a comfortable shoe for walking or working.

I ordered this shoe as an advertised substitute for an old favorite Rockport Nubuck Walker. I have a very narrow foot and was happy to find what had the variety of sizes in narrow widths. I needed another comfortable walker for a trip and needed it within a week. I asked for expidited shipping to receive it within a week. That request was honored with next day air - pretty expensive. But my shoe arrived in black! Not what I ordered. My invoice showed and said "white". i paid dearly for shipping and now have to pay to return it. Not happy with this purchase, plus the shoe is too big, nothing like the 9N I have from another Rockport shoe. Why don't men have this problem? Only women's sizes vary from item to item. This shoe, Marta, is not a satisfactory substitute for the Walker.

It's difficult for me to answer some of the above questions. I bought these shoes for my 89 year old Mom. She resides in Senior living facility.....and is in many way's quiet cognitive. She knows what she likes. For years we bought her the Rockport "Pro Walker" she thought there was no other shoe that gave her this type of support. The Pro Walker for women is not available any longer, so I decided to go with the Marta. My Mom's eyes lit up, she was quiet happy with the look, as well as the fit, and feel. Also, I had bought shoes attempting to find something new and different that she would like. She would always say "I will keep what I have......I don't like these. But, she likes the new Rockport Marta. Thanks!!!

These are the best tennis shoes I have found! Unlike some name brands, they fit my arch perfectly and come in the half sizes and wide sizes. The last time I tried to buy these shoes online at a different store for a discount price, they arrived, but were too small and tight. I had to return them and go somewhere else to get a decent value. I can always count on Rockport Martas and Amazon.com to get me the shoes that I want at a decent price.

I found that the shoes fit well by the size seven, but size medium is too large. However, by pulling the laces tighter they felt comfortable. I should have ordered a size 7 narrow instead of 7 medium. Otherwise I find the shoes excellent.

I have worn nothing but Rockport Walking Shoes and Rockport Sandals for years. My last pair of walking shoes were Marta's and I LOVED them. As a matter of fact I have worn them for casual wear for more years than I probably should admit. However, they finally reached the point where I knew I needed to replace them. I first ordered a new pair from another source and they fit so badly I returned them. I found a pair here on Amazon.com and tried ordering a smaller size. The size is still not correct and they hurt my feet. I would have returned them but my neighbor had an emergency and I ran to help her, forgetting I was trying new shoes. So I will have to keep them but they will sit in my closet unworn. I notice that these shoes are made in a different country from my previous ones. Whether that makes the difference or not I don't know but I can say these are terrible compared to my previous pair of walking shoes. So Sad!

These are wonderful walking shoes. I just love them. I got an injury to my right hip and leg from falling off of a ladder. I am still going through therapy and just recently in the last month I have been able to go on walks again. These shoes keep my feet just where they need to be and make walking comfortable even thought I have not yet totally healed from my fall!! Thanks you Rockport!!
