You get what you pay for and sometimes you get more. With this product from Solgar I feel like I got more than I paid for. I felt positive results within the first week of taking it 2x a day. I was diagnosed with FMD (functional movement disorder) in early 2023 and it has impacted my quality of life to less than I prefer. DLPA addresses both the physical and emotional aspects of FMD. This amino acid supports my nervous system with the L-phenylalanine acting as a building block for dopamine and norepinephrine which helps maintain stable communication between my brain and muscles. My twitching and muscle contractions have reduced substantially which has helped my brain reach a balanced state of focus and calm. Similar to a "grounding" effect. I experience significant amounts of pain from all the muscle "mis-fires" and that where the D-phenylapanine comes into play. It blocks the enzymes that break down my natural pain killers (endorphins) so my existing endorphins are active for longer periods of time which can ease the "body aches". This has been a game changer for me and I take one every morning without fail! It has helped my depression in a way I would have not believed possible and I have more energy as well. I only take one, I found taking 2 kept me awake at night.

I used this to kick my caffeine habit. You would be shocked to know what caffeine actually does to your body. I took 2 of these morning, noon and night for the first day and every 2 days removed 1. I am now caffeine free for 2 months and after a couple weeks my natural energy is back and it feels good to not have a dependency on coffee any longer. Thank you DLPA. My husband also did it and he is now 3 weeks caffeine free.

I guess I must have switched over to this brand when looking for a better price on this supplement. I tend to lead myself into thinking that all supplements really are the same when I know from experience that most of the time that's just not true. It may just be me, but when I began this brand the first 2-3 days I don't know that I noticed much of a difference from the Carlson brand I had been taking. Then about day 4 and for about two more weeks, I noticed that I was not getting the same effect from this one. I didn't have the fog lift, gentle energy boost and mood lift anymore, so I immediately switched back. Since I didn't come anywhere near finishing this bottle, I clearly didn't save any money. sigh.

Good product, it seems to do it's job.

These are of very poor quality, I highly recommend trying a different brand. DLPA is a great supplement but if this product brand is your first go at it you be disappointed. The first indication is when I opened the bottle from the seal; there was no telltale aroma. Then of course the proof is in the pudding. Absolutely zero effect. I waited two hours and took from what I had left from my previous brand. Yup. There it was, clear mind and positive energy at 30 minutes per usual. A shame and an enormous waste of money because I paid more for these than I normally do. I purchased this brand aiming for a gel cap rather than a tablet. Other brands offer the real deal and for much less money to boot, the tablets are fine. This company should be ashamed of themselves. I think the "Since 1947" is maybe a clue to stick with the newer, more innovative companies. Also, The "Amazon's Choice", as this was, is no indication of quality. I wish I had not wasted my money.

Our dog was 17 years old when we discovered this product. She suffered from arthritis in her hips to the point were she had trouble getting up, she still wanted to play like a puppy. We started giving her this pain reliever along with Dog Pain Away and we saw a significant difference in her mobility. I ended up recommending it to my brother for his dog and they were able to avoid an expensive acl surgery for their dog. Of course we used this under the guidance of our vet.
