I was able to get the clips on ebay and the rest of the parts here on desertcart and saved a decent amount from the manufacturer cost. I got the 78" bars and cut them down to 76" so they don't extend past the rear view mirrors. I can haul two canoes or one canoe and two kayaks with ease. Very stable and wasn't too hard to install, but did take a little time and patience. Only real complaint is that the locks really should be included with these. Does this towers includes the end bar caps?** A: I used bars I aleeady had. So not entirely sure. Would think that if it says, "Comes with end bar caps", then it does. Call Yakima, they'll tell you. Customer service is pretty good. **Q: Do the towers mess up/destroy the point of contact of the car?** A: No, they do not mess up or destroy the point of contact on my car (2013 Honda Fit). Install both part carefully and you will have no trouble **Q: How easy are these to remove? I wonder because I'm not sure I always want them on my car.** A: Pretty easy to remove, only a few minutes for each rack (I don't leave mine on the car either). I found it interesting that Yakima now recommends removing the rack system in between uses. I know we had to repaint my wife's truck because water got under the pads and caused the roof to start rusting. maybe her call to Yakima had more impact than just getting free upgraded replacements for the pads.
