[OLD VERSION] TurboTax Deluxe 2024 Tax Software, Federal Tax Return [PC/MAC Download]

Many of you getting ready to file taxes for tax year 2024 using TurboTax are probably anxious about the discontinuance of Intuit not providing a CD version for desktop, which I have been using for over 2 1/2 decades. I like having everything on my computer where I can control it, and I was hesitant to do an install where you download your Install file and then have to have an intuit account to access information. I read the reviews for the first month and a half, and a lot of people were having problem with TurboTax. Just trying to get the product out of the door and not all the features were readily available, especially the ability to migrate previous tax year information into your tax form. Well, as of November 29, 2024, I feel very comfortable with the TurboTax deluxe federal version. The install was smooth and seamless. and very intuitive. I was able to migrate all the information from last year‘s tax return to simplify my tax filing for 2024. And like many TurboTax users, you can be rested assured that we will be getting updates over the next couple months as IRS releases more and more information to assist us in filing taxes, I was always hesitant to update TurboTax after filing my tax returns since I wanted the information to remain as filed. But the updates only increased stability and security for TurboTax and did not adversely affect any of my TurboTax filings. I always hoped, however, that maybe I would get a bump in a refund because of new tax law, but that has never happened. So go ahead and try it out and you will be pleasantly surprised that everything works even this early in the game and for Amazon‘s offering of $38 for the federal deluxe version you can’t go wrong. I was able to review my taxes and the one change that I had to make for the latter part of this year was because of a better performance out of a savings account Which obviously affected my tax obligation by the end of the year. But I can’t complain about paying 16% tax on $4000 of savings and income, which would’ve been the same had I known about the savings account earlier in the year. So the nice thing is that you can Check your taxes out right now and make any minor adjustments to simplify the actual filing after your forms come in during the next two months :)

Good product. Easy to install. I use it every year. It is getting a little pricy, though.

I have been using TurboTax every year since 1997 and have never had a problem. This year, they switched to download only, instead of a DVD. After installing the downloaded file, the activation process failed. The error message indicated no internet connection, although the connection was just fine. Many others have reported the same problem, probably related to a firewall issue, but TurboTax needs to fix this! I want a refund! Update: Three days after submitting the review above, I decided to give the TurboTax. Installation process another try. I had thought of trying some additional things that could solve the problem, but when I started the app, the splash screen appeared briefly, and then the activation screen appeared, allowing me to enter the activation code. From there, everything worked smoothly! I have no clue what caused the original problem, but I am happy to report that it has been resolved. I would normally have given TurboTax a five star rating, but I am taking off one star for a less than perfect installation experience.

Very reliable in tax preparation

I used Turbo Tax for years to figure our income tax. There have been significant changes made to Turbo Tax, and I got a terrific gal to assist us in navigating the changes and getting our taxes filed on time.

(I tried to email this to you directly but It was bounced back)I have used turbotax every year since tax year 1990. Back then I was using the professional version because I was a CPA working out of a CPA office. I am retired now but still doing my own taxes and those of my daughter. Every year I have purchased your premier or deluxe version of Turbotax. I have found that each of the last three years it has become harder and harder to install and use. Especially since I got my Mac desktop without a disk drive. When I first started using Turbotax we didn't even have internet installed on our computers and it was soooo simple to use with the forms only. Even when taxes were so much more complicated back then. This year is the end of my relationship with Turbotax. It took over a day to get it installed on my computer and move last year's files to this year. I did my daughter's taxes and managed to efile it. But no printing. I thought it was my printer. So I bought $500 worth of new ink cartridges. Then I did my taxes. I tried to print out pages to review. Still no printing. Eventually, after a very frustrating day, I found that I needed to download Adobe to print. I don't want to install another program. It is stupid. And way too much stress for doing a basic 1040 with only a couple of retirements and social security. I took photos of each page with my phone and filled out the 1040 form that I got from the IRS. I am going to just mail it in and be done. I should have been able to do it all in just a couple of hours with no frustration. Your program is now irrelevant. Taxes are simpler and your program is harder. Sorry, You have lost a longtime customer. CPA (retired)

Got 2024 Takes done in no time. Easy to use and time saver.

Had been a HR Block customer for more than 20 years, but when the SAVE act was passed, it changed rules for certain IRAs, and Block's software did not correctly account for the fact that some people are exempt from those rules. TURBO-TAX GETS IT RIGHT! KEPT ME FROM LOSING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS!
