Impressive Quality
I have not been able to utilize this reel yet however I can say this reel is built very well. I have been surf fishing for over 15 years. I have been thinking of upgrading my diawa BG 4000 for a Van Staal VS250. I was about to pull the trigger when I realized you could not switch the retrieve on the VS. After visiting a bait shop I was able to hold the SaltX however at the time they did not have the 4000 model in stock. Glad I was finally able to locate this on Amazon as I prob would have missed using it for the spring run. Very excited to land my fist fish on this!

Great reel
Had mine for about a yr and the only complaint is the reel handle "rubber" like material almost immediately started peeling off. I emailed tsunami and they said they would replace it for free and then they ghosted me. I emailed them a few more times and literally got no response. Other than that I would definitely recommend the saltX

Smooth and strong
For half the price of the competitor and still do all the same. Don't shy from dumping in the saltwater to wash off the sand. Darg was smooth and strong to reel in fish. The handle knob is great and did not have to pay extra like the competitors to get a power knob. The knob is designed to be cold-proof and doesn't have to be wrapped.

Very low quality product - handle disintegrating after two outings
The reel functions fine but the material they used on the handle is so thin that it has started disintegrating after two outings. This is from regular use with bare hands - I was not wearing gloves, rings or a watch.Fishermen's source are not willing to replace or refund because I am out of 30 day window. I have emailed Tsunami requesting a replacement, but I am not hopeful.All considered I would recommend people avoid this model!

Would buy again.
The reel has a good look and feel to it. Bought an even more expensive real at the same time, but I like this one better. Heavy drag works great. Would buy again.
