Airfix Vintage Classics Set - A04208V HMS Ark Royal - Plastic Model Ship Kits for Adults & Children 8+, Set Includes 353 Pieces - 1:600 Scale Model Ship Set

I just received this today and eagerly opened the box to find a nice, large hull with what is sufficient buoyancy to take servos, motors rc gear and switches. As a donor kit to Radio Control (RC) and motorise it's excellent. I recommend it.

ok

Interesting model with just the right level of detail to make it entertaining. As is usual in this brand, the quality of the materials allows you to customize some of the finishes, which is appreciated among enthusiasts of this hobby.

It is unlikely that this kit will ever be completed, as I am using it to help proportion a larger model for radio control. I have, however, built the Airfix Graf Spee before and found it to be probably their best ship kit for tidiness of mould and detail.

Chatting with father-in-law and he mentioned how he'd been round both nearby model shops looking for this model as he'd damaged the build beyond repair when he had kit some years ago. He'd expected to walk in and take one from a shelf but had no luck, so would forget trying to find one. He's not an internet user, not even comfortable using the phone, while he chatted I bought one from Amazon and told him kit would be delivered next day, which amazed and delighted him. He started building straight away and is having great time building this ship to go with his many others.

Every thing as stated and on time

Am about 2/3 through of gradually making and painting the model: unfortunately some parts are missing so I have had to write to Airfix to ask if I can get the missing parts from them. The delivery was fine and the parts were all in a sealed bag. The model in general is fine but I could do with the missing parts.

You know what you get with Airfix Vintage range and in this case a kit with a mould dating back to 1966. So yes, you might require a sanding pad, craft knife, filler and some clamps, and experienced modellers will have these things. But it is a hugely satisfying little project to do. It comes with tiny Swordfish and Fairey Fulmar planes which add interest to the deck and with the use of primer paints up really well.

Belle maquette fidelle malgré qu'elle soit ancienne ,

Easy to build A little rough on the edges
