I ordered this holster in spite of all the opinions on the internet saying it was a bad way to carry, difficult to draw the gun, and the big one about how you could be crippled if you fell backwards. I found upon further research that most of it was bs. And if the sob holster is worn correctly the chance of an injury is very low. I got this one this morning and I’ve been wearing it for ten hours or so as I write this. The holster itself is the quality I’ve come to expect from DeSantis. Good leather and craftsmanship. As is usual the fit to the gun, 5” RIA Tactical was tight at first but after about 50 times drawing and re-holstering it’s breaking in nicely. I wear mine to the right of my center belt loop away from my spine with the butt of the pistol just far enough right so that it doesn’t protrude from the right side of my back. I’ve checked in a mirror and either an untucked shirt or a t shirt with my leather vest conceals it nicely. It is a very comfortable holster for me and it’s easy to forget it’s there. I’ve practiced the draw, unloaded of course, from several positions and except for in my truck with center console it’s not difficult and can be done pretty fast. In short, I’d buy this holster again and I intend to get another one in black.

For a full sized 1911 I find it very comfortable. A sturdy belt and your set. Retention screw comes loose as per instructions. And yes, because its leather you need to work it a bit. I highly recommend it

I asked desantis, asked the seller and asked the customers if it fit a 1911 with a rail. it DOES NOT fit a rail 1911!!! Buyer beware!
