Update (9/30/21): Ordered three (3) times previously (2/27/21, 2/21/21, 3/30/21), and no issues. This time, received a vastly different version, here are the changes: 1) insert is not brass (color), 2) insert does not sit flush with the bottom of the knob, 3) knob material is low quality injection plastic, not the previous heavier/denser shiny black plastic, 4) knobs definitely feel "lighter weight" than the older ones, 5) knobs feel flimsy when tightening/loosening. Of all the changes, the non-BRASS, and non-FLUSH insert are the deal breaker. Not sure if POWERTEC changed the design. In the pictures, there are two NEW and two OLD knobs (old ones are on the RIGHT side). Sent these back to Amazon.Summary: using these on an Optima battery top terminal.Pros: good fit & finish; brass inserts.Cons: costConclusion: At $10 for five ($2/each), rating their 4-stars.

They feel good to twist. I fortunately, when you tighten them down, the insert pulls out of the plastic. This renders them useless.They lasted about 5-6 holds before giving out.

I purchased these to restore an old break cutting machine that had the same kind of knobs but after 58 years they were cracked and broken. I have to say the quality of these were very impressive. Really made well and very sturdy.That was something I was not really expecting for the price. Amazon prime means they arrived quickly and I was able to complete the project for my customer. Really good product at a really good price.

The knobs are nicely sized for adult hands and could be worked by children as well. Worked great for the Pikler triangle we built. None of the stems were straight, so quality control seems to be an issue, but these knobs will get the job done and are a better size than many of the other top search results for 1/4-20 knobs on Amazon.

Tried twice, but the product shipped is not as shown in the listing. The photo and product description clearly states that these are studs. That is, the knob has a bonded, threaded stud/bolt. The product shipped has an embedded nut.

I used these to fasten the lid down on my trailer tongue tool box. I installed threaded inserts into the box and epoxied them in place, and used these through the lid to secure it. It’s an outdoor fiberglass box, so the threaded inserts were better than tapping the holes. Good product with endless possibilities.

These are just what I needed for replacement knobs that are used to cinch down the adjustment clamps on our bimini on our pontoon. The original ones cracked. I'd order these again in a heartbeat.

Good product but NOT to be used near Loctite! Two of my knobs crumbled an hour after I used blue liquid Loctite on their threads. Either some liquid squeezed out of the threads onto the plastic or the fumes were enough to attack the plastic because the knobs shattered leaving only a hex nut behind! The other three knobs are doing fine (I used them to make my bench grinder rests adjustable)

I have a woodworking track system from the States, which uses imperial threaded parts. (the world is on metric, go figure) I needed some speed knobs for the locking mechanism, tried all the local suppliers/stores but no joy.Found these on amazon, just what I needed. was adapting 4 J Bar kayak roof racks wanted a little heavier tie bolts for them as 2 are only used these star thru knob, fit the bill perfectly and are well built, will definitely buy again

These 5-Star Stud Knob, 1/4"-20 will not work on Screw in Nut Threaded Wood Inserts Bolt Fastener Connector Hex Socket Drive Size 1/4"-20 x 15mm. The threads don't match the ones in the inserts.
