Antacid tablets and milk of magnesia relieve heartburn once it happens. GeriCare heartburn relief liquid actually helps prevent heartburn from happening by coating your stomach before you consume those highly seasoned foods or adult beverages that you know will upset your stomach. I have been using a name-brand product that has the same active ingredients to prevent heartburn for years. Geri-Care costs almost as much per ounce as the name-brand, and seems to work about as well. According to its website, GeriCare is a US company with in-house labs, testing, and manufacturing facilities in the USA and abroad. It also manufactures capsules, tablets, liquids, gummies, gels, creams, and ointments for drugstore chains and private label distributors. It is a good product, but not a better one than my current brand. I like the flavor of my brand better, and I don’t see any reason to change brands at this time. One thing that you should do before taking any antacid regularly is check with your doctor. Antacids can interfere with the absorption of some medications, and they can mask medical conditions which could require treatment by a professional.

I am a fan of off-brand and cheap alternative meds, since I think affordable options are a good thing and most name brand meds are only popular for the sake of name recognition, not because there's anything inherently better in their formulation compared to the generic versions. So I'm glad that GeriCare, the company making this heartburn relief liquid, is focused on making off-brand versions of better known products. This particular liquid heartburn treatment definitely does what it is meant to, and while it's currently the same price as one of the better known brands out there, that helps keep that other brand from raising their price. Competition is a good thing. That said, the flavor in this liquid is not exactly a joy to swallow. You will certainly know that it is medicine. Don't expect a party in your mouth, but it'll get the job done. It arrived thoroughly wrapped and sealed, though not in the kind of printed cardboard box you'd normally buy products in if you got this off the shelf in a pharmacy store. Pragmatism seems the name of the game here, but still, I took off a star for the awkward, not-very-professional packaging. It's not that hard to get product packing materials and do a better job of it. The bottle is appropriately labeled, thankfully, so you're not going to mix it up with anything else in your medicine cabinet.

The medicine is ready to use and is mildly minty smelling. Installation/setup: Use as directed to relieve heartburn symptoms. Final thoughts: I use pepcid complete at least once every couple weeks. I love spicy food but sometimes it doesn’t like me. This liquid works at least as well and is just as easy to use. I think this may work a bit quicker on me. I like this and I’m glad I got it. ⭐️1 star - I don't recommend it at all, poor quality. ⭐️⭐️ 2 stars - I don't recommend it, it has multiple faults, or a very high price. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3 stars - It's passable, It has some faults but the quality is ok for what it is. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 4 stars - Product quite acceptable, it does what it promises. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 stars - Product that I totally recommend.

The taste is fine… at first. Then there is a very nasty aftertaste. Disappointed. It seems to work, just not worth the aftertaste.

This is far superior to Pepto in my opinion. Its flavor is better than competing brands and the consistency is tolerable. Sometimes when I have a dull burn in my stomach Ill take this and it will go away. With that said, I think its pretty effective. The bottles pretty big in my opinion too, so i'll have this for a long time to use.

This medication works just as well as some of the name brands! It doesn't taste horrible and isn't chalky. I would definitely recommend it!

This stuff tastes terrible, I have used a ton of different brands and this by far is the worst. It does seem to work fine if you can tolerate the taste.
