Substandard camera, but otherwise knocks it out of the park for my needs!
I'm a life-long Apple user who has been looking to switch to Android for a while, but I didn't want to switch to a huge phone. I tried holding some flagship Android devices in hand in the store and found that they made my hand cramp up after just a few minutes. Ouch! For that reason and others, the Unihertz Jelly series has been on my radar for some time, but I found the bezels, large flashing LED notification lights, and poor battery life inelegant and irritating. This phone seemed to address those qualms and integrate enough features to "future proof" it quite well. Mind you, I bought this device to act as a long-term companion device to my Light Phone 3 (yet to arrive but eagerly awaited), providing access to basic apps like email, ride share, or medical app in extenuating circumstances. That said, I've been using it as a full time phone in the mean time, and think I can provide good insight for someone who is looking to use it as a full time phone. The phone is small and weighty, which I actually like a lot: It makes me feel like I am holding something of meaningful quality, rather than something flimsy and breakable. The curvature of the device is ergonomic and feels good in the hand. The battery life is great - 3-4 days of normal (for me) usage, which is comprised mostly of texting, some navigation, an Uber here or there, and the like. The included 66W fast charging brick is awesome, charging (in one instance, as an example) the phone from 12% to 94% in 30 minutes. Finally, one feature I really like that I haven't seen mentioned is how low the brightness can go. Especially with the "extra dim" feature turned on, this is the one and only phone I've had that doesn't feel like it's blinding me if I have to look at in the dead of night or right before bed, even if I'm looking at content with a bright/white background (e.g., reading the news).I am going from an iPhone 12 mini which also had a 60hz refresh rate, so it doesn't bother me at all.The major con for me is the camera. I find the quality of the camera acceptable for most of use cases (read: photos of my cats), but the color accuracy really leaves quite a lot to be desired. In some conditions, it's fine, but in others, it seems to over/under-saturate the colors or do some post-processing that affects the exposure in unattractive ways. Moving the camera just ever so slightly can dramatically change what color the phone uses as a basis for "correcting" the other colors in frame based on lighting, meaning even minor movement can suddenly result in a photo with strange orange, yellow, blue, or green tints. So given my lengthy complaints about the camera quality, why not take a star off my review? Because honestly I don't take many photos in general, and in instances where I do want high color accuracy, I'm seldom alone or without someone else who has a high quality camera. And when my LP3 arrives, I'm confident its cameras will do the job well, and that I won't relying on the Jelly Max cameras at all.All in all, I'm quite happy with the device!

Meh
It's my third Unihertz, but I don't like this one! It's THICK, and heavy. I'm going to return it.

I like it, but the screen should've been amoled
Unfortunately, I've got a stuck pixel in the top left corner, so I'll have to return it when they get some more phones in. Works fine, but it doesn't have that same satisfaction when looking at an amoled screen. Maybe that's preferable to some if they're trying to limit their phone usage. I just wanted a smaller phone so I could reach everything without changing the phone position in my hand, or recruiting my other hand.

It has its flaws, but the value and uniqueness make it a real contender
Everyone nit picking this phone needs to take a step back. Its currently the only "small" modern 5G smartphone and while it does lack in a few areas Unihertz is right now the only company willing to make such a device and I think they did a great job for the price they are asking.Pros:- Size is perfect, I'll never go back to anything bigger than a 5" screen if I can help it.- Weight, this is a mixed bag for some people but this has some weight to it which feels better in my hand.- Great value, for a little over $300 you get the phone and many included accessories.- Battery life, best battery life of any phone I had. The smaller screen helps with this I imagine.- Performance, android 14 runs well and I've not had any issues with connectivity or phone functionality.Cons:- 60hz refresh rate screen, my biggest gripe which I think holds it back from being a serious flagship contender. Most flagship phones now have 120hz+ screens which greatly improves the smoothness of scrolling and using the phone in general. Going from a high refresh rate phone to this is a noticeable step back unfortunately, and while not a deal breaker I would hope in the next generation they update this.- Too thick, it doesn't bother me too much but a popular criticism is the phone is very thick which I agree with. If they could shave off 5mm or so it would be perfect imo.-Historical lack of updates, this is more of a prediction but since Unihertz is a small company its been noted in the past they don't update their phones often so don't expect frequent updates or android patches for this.-Video quality, 1080p video is ok, 4k is basically worthless as it only records in low framerates (15ish fps). There are no options within the camera app to change this.-No Esim support, this would have been nice to have but this being a chinese phone company they typically don't have esim which I think is a government mandate. It is dual sim which is good at least. All in all for what it is they did great I think, and if they can improve these issues on the next generation I 100% will be getting it again. People want to compare this to a $1000 flasgship phone and its an apples to oranges comparison. For a 1/3rd of the price of those phones you get a phone with 80% of the features.

Best option for small screen phone
Best option for a small screen phone considering 5g is becoming a must. Dual-band GPS feels much more accurate in the city than the single-band with the Jelly Star. Screen is small enough that your fingers can still reach to the other side with one hand. I miss the 3.5mm jack, but modern ones in plastic-bodied phones seem to come loose or short out anyways.

Been contemplating buying this
Been contemplating this phone. It would be perfect for me in most way as a secondary phone. But my only thing preventing me is the fact is has no headphone jack…
