Classic Industrial Look; Easy Installation
Before I get into my review, here is a FYI on 'Silver' vs. 'Brushed Steel':At the time I ordered the 'Silver' one, the image was the same (duplicate) of the 'Brushed Silver' one - but when I got it, it was painted more of a battleship grey than silver. I returned the 'Silver' ones and got the 'Brushed Steel' and they look as pictured/what you'd expect.1. Components: The fixture and guard is all metal, with a thick glass screw-in insert. The metal seems to be some kind of nonferrous pot metal, but solidly constructed. There is some clear indication that it's cast metal (rough edges), but this is rather minor in my opinion. Only the pickiest of buyers will notice/care.2. Installation: I was just replacing existing fixtures, so I already had the location on my house wired. Installing them was very easy (this was also the first time I have ever installed a porch light). Note that it does *not* come with screws to affix the mounting plate to the side of your home, nor does it come with wire nuts (to join the wires from the light fixture to the wiring from your home). These are cheap to buy at any hardware store, but it's good to know this before you get ready to install.3. Looks/functionality: I've only had these installed on my house for a couple days, but they work well and look fantastic. They cast the light well and the metal cage that protects the glass does not seem to affect the light or cast shadows in any significant way that I can detect.4. Made in China. Just a FYI to those that want to know where it's made.

Well made, industrial style light, good price - Recommended
I purchased 6 of these for use on the pergola I am building over my patio and am very pleased. They arrived just a few days after I ordered them, were well packaged and contained all the pieces needed for a variety of mounting options. The light fixtures are extremely sturdy and I expect them to last for quite some time. The lights are finished in a silver/pewter color that appears to be powder-coat, a very durable paint that is baked on. I chose these lights because of their industrial/steampunk look, but not their color. So I did make a few minor modifications: I spray painted the fixtures with black automotive wrinkle finish paint, wrapped the ceramic bulb insulator with a bit of copper tape then finished them up with an old fashion Edison style light bulbs. I think they look like fixtures that would cost three times the price. They have since gone through several drenching Texas thunderstorms and all continue to work faultlessly with no fogging or condensation build up. (just seal the junction box caps with silicon as the manufacturer's instructions state) I would definitely recommend them.

Outstanding value, top 95% of all competing products. A couple items needed to win 5stars...
This is an outstanding value at less than 1/3 the price of similar items from local supply-houses (Stonco, Satco, RAB).PROS:- Color-matched, solid rubber gaskets (not crappy foam that blows away in the wind, cracks, creases awkwardly during installation, and fails after years of sunlight)- 150W-rated lampholder- Raised grounding terminal stud features detents that help 'set' the wire loop during screw tightening- Kit includes FS round box with 1/2" hubs, and sconce fixture- No grounding connections required in the field for the sconce fixture -- (?) -- there does appear to be a terminal stud formed into interior face of the sconce piece, but it's not threaded nor identified for grounding. The (4) mount screws provide grounding connection to base FS box?TO WIN 5 STARS *****- Stainless steel outdoor mounting screws CAN be magnetic! All outdoor fixture makers need to know this, and implement it, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! For large projects (20-plus fixtures), the fixture that's supplied with magnetic mount screws will be my choice, even if in every other way it is significantly inferior. I have probably wasted about 100 hrs over 10 years, searching for dropped mount screws that are non-magnetic stainless. The 10-24 stainless screws used for outdoor FS box threaded bosses are not easy to replace from stock (or even a trip to the hardware store).- Improve the paint job- Identify the grounding provision between the sconce piece and the FS box, ON THE FIXTURE. Emboss a note indicating four mount screws meet NEC grounding requirements?CONS:- Paint has a couple wrinkles/deformities that might not be as quality as competitors. However, availability of four or five finish styles is unusual in this style fixture.

Functional and robust
The house I bought comes with 2 Heath Zenith motion sensing light in the working area. One is completely broken and one with poor motion sensor. I hate the motion sensing function, so I decided to give this product a try.The cable box (or mounting box) comes with a diagonal mounting holes, and five openings for the cables (top, right, bottom, left, and the back). You can thread PVC pipes into the holes, then run cables through it to make it completely water proof. The whole mounting box is made out of metal, which is very robust. To transition from traditional light fixture is easy. Simply remove the old fixture from the wall, drill two holes for the new cable box, run the cable through the back opening and mount the box on the wall. If you need air tight, add some caulk around the opening before slapping the bracket on. Once the cable box is done, all other steps are very straight forward.I bought one to test out the fitting last night, and I bought 3 more after I am done with the first one. There is no complicated part on this unit. I like things simple and functional, and robust construction with water tight plastic gasket exceeds my expectation.Only down side is the color option, I would like it to be black or dark brown to match my house trim, but this is a minor factor. Hope the company can add more color options in the future, and possibly the metal cage design to make it more appealing to the market.
