Update- so fish fun co contacted me and asked me what was wrong so i told him that the boat did not make it through one battery and he sent me all new stuff new board new reciever and motors with a new controller i was shocked iv never been called by someone trying to rectify what has been done i am so very pleased and my wife will once again be able to go fishing with her father oh and i should add we contacted the number in california and got nowhere that was the reason for the bsd review do not call them they are in novi michigan and the number is 734-502-8796 they are very helpfull this will save u a lot of headach

This boat is exactly what my son wanted and he can't wait to get it in the water. It was dead on arrival though and so in response to that I initially I gave this purchase one star.Based on responsiveness of the company, I'm changing my original one star review on this boat as I am convinced that Arlin at Fish Fun Co. will see this through to our complete satisfaction. I am leaving the original review here just so you will be aware of what occurred, as we are still DOA with this boat.Arlin at Fish Fun Company is being VERY responsive and even responded to my email late last night (Sunday). And today he is working hard to get it resolved and ship us a new controller that works.But the fact is still that the surprise and delight that we had hoped for on this birthday present for my 15 year old was spoiled by the fact that he and his dad couldn't get it to work. It happened to be a Sunday, so there was no customer support.One thing I want to note is that in working to get this resolved, Arlin told me that you should NOT charge the battery overnight, but this was not clear in any of the literature. It may have been mentioned, but to me this should be in ALL CAPS, both on the website and in the documentation, as I have never heard of any battery that gets ruined from being charged too long. Fortunately we bought two batteries, but my husband may have charged both overnight. ;(I appreciate the fact that Arlin is doing all possible to get this resolved. Unfortunately my son is back at school and I have a very busy day today so it may be a few days before we get the boat operational.----------------------------Unfortunately, today we have "sad faces all around" as my 15 year old son says. We got him this boat yesterday for his birthday and of course he had to wait overnight for the batteries to charge. So today, he had planned on going out to play with it all day. It was a gorgeous day and he had his heart set. He and his dad followed the directions and could not get the lights on the remote unit to work. We tried fresh batteries, in case those shipped were bad. No luck.I had read the other ratings before buying and was hoping I wasn't one of those that would suffer from the bad quality of assembly.Of course because he had to wait until today, the customer service number was not manned today. I am confident from the other comments that Fun Fish Co will call tomorrow and help turn this from a one star rating to a five star rating by getting us a working boat asap.

Disappointed in this gift for grandson for Xmas. After spending that much money and expecting no problems, well there was one BIGOne none of the fishing items came with the boat as stated on Amazon.My grandson lives in a small town where everything needs to be shipped in due to lack of convenience. It was easier for his father to purchase the fishing items instead of returning the boat and exchanging it.I feel as the purchaser of this gift for my grandson, I should be reimbursed for the gift. My grandson was extremely sad and disappointed as I was since it was the only thing he asked me for as a Xmas present.I would like to hear from you in regards to this matter. This is the first time such disappointment and major missing items have occurred for me from anything I have ever purchased through Amazon.Thank you for your time. Diane D. Fire

This RC Boat is an absolute joy. We take it out on our ski boat with us every weekend. We race tugboats on the river and win every time. It draws a lot of attention from the other boaters because we are laughing like kids the entire time we're playing with it. To see us out with it, you would have a hard time believing we are a couple in our 40s. Customer service is outstanding in their response to questions or problems and they take immediate action. I rate our experience with this boat and Fish Fun Co a 10 out of 5 stars.

It does float, so one star for that! Dual drive motors are way out of sync. If you turn the little rudder to adjust for this at low speed then it will just drive in circles at high speed. The range is only about a hundred feet. The battery will die before you get it back to shore, so only send it up wind. That way it will blow back to shore. Steering is all or nothing. In general it’s what you would expect from a cheap Chinese product. I would say it’s way overpriced for what you get.

When I bought this boat, these extra batteries came up as "Frequently Purchased with" not even close. I called the boat manufacturer and Roland was extremely friendly and Helpful. I order the extra batteries from Fish Fun! Great people.

This was a lot of fun. Haven't used it to catch fish but taking it out on a stream was awesome. I wish the battery lasted longer but other than taht it was great.

More of a novelty than anything. Motor only goes one speed so you can't be precise on where you want to stop with your bait. Motor is pretty loud as well so not exactly stealth fishing. However, great range and great battery life!
