Inexpensive, effective, and easy installation & removal
Summary: These vents have lasted me a long time and actually protected my side windows from damage. They are easy to install and easy to remove. The price is decent for a custom fit product and the in-channel design creates a nice, clean look. 4.7 / 5 stars.Review:I installed these on my Ford Ranger about 7 years ago. I ordered a new set only because a flying piece of debris on the highway hit the side of my truck and broke a piece of the vent off (actually a flying Port-o-potty roof). This vent actually saved my side window from breaking. Now I can attest to the simplicity of installation and removal. The installation is simple and the package includes everything you need to clean the window channel and install them. The whole process only takes about 5 minutes, and it comes with clear and simple instructions. You use the square pad to sand down the interior of the channel. The pad is a bit small but it is not too small to use. After you have sanded down the inside of the channel, you use the cleaning pad to wipe the channel clean. Roll the window down all the way and peel the backing off the adhesive (which is already attached to the visor). Slide the visor tightly into the channel, and roll up the window for 24 hours. The fit is snug but very easy to fit in. The first time I put them on, I even installed them a bit crooked but was able to adjust it before I let it set for the 24 hour period suggested. Once they're installed and set for 24 hours, the windows open and close just like normal. I have manual windows and I notice almost no difference when rolling up the windows as far as friction is concerned. The "in-channel" visor has a much cleaner look than simply taping a piece of plastic to the outside of the door. It looks more like a part of the truck than an attachment that way. They allow my truck to stay a lot cooler in the summer by allowing me to crack my window without worrying about rain getting in. Plus the dark tint provides a little extra shade when the sun is at a lower angle. When I was removing the old ones during this most recent installation, it took a little bit of force to remove them but I would certainly not say it was difficult. I'd say it was a good balance between a solid grip and easy removal. Just peel the visor off from one end to the other. It came off easy enough that I was not concerned at all about it damaging the rubber channel during removal. When I was prepping the channel to put in the new visor, there wasn't any adhesive residue left over. It was a nice clean removal. Pretty good considering it was on there for the better part of a decade.Pros:1- Easy installation AND removal: The installation is fast and simple. The removal is just as simple, which was surprising considering how well they stay in place to begin with.2- Lifespan: They have lasted a long time on my truck, and the original vent would probably still be on there if it weren't for the piece of debris that hit my truck.3- Fit: The fit is absolutely perfect for my truck, I do not see a single portion of the vent that doesn't fit to within 1 or 2mm.4- Additional protection: While it's a bit unlikely that others will experience the same event that caused my original vent to break, it is possible. If it weren't for this vent, I probably would have had to put a few hundred dollars into replacing and re-tinting my passenger window.Cons:1- Tint scratching: I wouldn't even call this a con for this specific product, but in-channel vents as a whole. Since it does fit in the channel, when the window rolls up, it rubs against the vent. Over time this has scratched the top 1/4-1/2" of the tinting on the window. Not a huge deal since you rarely see it, but it may be a drawback for some people who are trying to decide if they want an in-channel vent.Overall, I would definitely recommend these vents. They are a pretty good price for a custom fit product, and very easy to install. They have lasted me a LONG time and have paid for themselves 10 times over after protecting my window from highway debris. It was a good purchase and I would definitely do it again (a 3rd time).

Fits 2004 Ford Ranger Edge
Bought this product and installed it on the old truck. Allows the windows to be opened just enough to let in some fresh air and keeps the car cool in the summer and fog free in the autumn and winter. Awesome on a rainy day. Great product A+ It is easy to install, adheres to the surface and is durable.

Worth it
Perfect fit for my '11 Ford Ranger XLT. I've had the same product on other vehicles before and have always been satisfied. The shades easily snap into the window channel (dry-fit first!), and the 2-sided tape holds it in place well. I can drive at highway speeds with the windows down about an inch, and with the vents open inside the air just moves right through with nothing coming in at the top of the windows. There's also a lot less wind noise than without the Ventshades.Suggestions (besides following the printed directions):1) Dry-fit them first as mentioned above. There will be a bit of play in how far up, down, forward, or back you place them in the window channel, so test it out before pulling the protective strip off of the tape.2) After putting them in, keep your windows rolled up tight for at least a full day to ensure the tape seals well. This will snug the Ventshade in place for a long-lasting installation.I'm in Arizona and I like to roll down the windows a bit in the summer when the truck is parked, help vent out the hot air that builds up. These prevent most dust, rain, etc. from coming in, and it's not obvious to the casual passer-by that the windows are open. In this regard, it also serves as a theft deterrent. (I also use a "club" in the steering wheel, so that helps too!) Note that if you use a powered vent unit in your window to help cool the vehicle, it likely won't fit with Ventshades in place.Overall, a good investment and highly recommended! And I much prefer this in-channel design over the others that attach on the outside and tape to the door around the window.

Great product, here's my quick review
Awesome! This was my first deflector purchase and installation is as easy as you think. Just clean, line up to make sure it fits, remove adhesive backing and put in the channel. push them a little towards where it sticks, and then leave your windows up for a day to seal the deal. Two, for good measure.PROS:Durable, thick, nice profile and doesnt stick out too much and lets you crack your windows with zero chance of rain getting in (provided you do not roll your windows down too much, obviously). Feels like they will last.CONS:None at the moment. I've had them for quite a while and so far they are good as new.Note, they do come with a little white AVS logo on the top corner. I personally like the look but it looks like it can come off if you try to take it off, with some effort. Otherwise, it'll stay there. Rain doesnt seem to wear it.Overall im happy, and im sure you will be. Fits my 2006 ford ranger perfectly. Hope my review helped!

I was concerned about the availability of this product because of the age of my 2002 Ford Ranger. Not a problem, fair price and a good fit. Thanks
