I have a K&M stand and just replace the Gator Boom with this one. All K&M stuff I’ve experienced is the best stage quality of anything I’ve owned. This boom is solid and compact.

K&M products never disappoint, and the boom arm is no exception. It is very sturdy, of great quality, and perfectly resolves the need for a longer arm on stage!

As others have said, it's a quality boom.... If for no other reason than it stays secure when you tighten it. Other booms I've gotten just don't seem to be able to do that. I'm very happy!

This is absolutely the best boom stand I've ever used, and I've owned a lot of brands over the years. The knobs tighten easily, and stay put for years in a semi-permanent setup . This stand is a little shorter than the classic boom, which makes it good for keyboard rigs, or adding to a guitarist's stand. (A collapsible stand plus a short boom is just about the ideal configuration for most musician needs.) It has thinner tubes than some of the competition, meaning that it will tend to disappear on stage a little better. I own eight of these booms.

K&M stands are sturdy, well engineered and reliable. I have some that are years old and still function perfectly. One cannot say they are light weight, hence my lack of rating that functionality, but that's not a bad thing booms need weight to function properly. My keyboard stand is also from K&M. Just cannot go wrong with German engineering.

Actually the worst boom that I have and I have some pretty cheap ones($20). This is not even as good as the cheap ones!!! The horizontal adjustment system is fine, but the bolt that controls the tilt of the boom sucks eggggggs. No matter how hard you tighten it (till your fingers hurt), it still slips, I will leave the room and come back an hour later and its is a foot lower than where i set it and tightened it to ridiculous tension. Do not trust it with your good mics as it will eventually end up on the floor. I bought an Atlas boom at the same time that I love and trust - either get a cheap boom, it costs a lot less and works better! If you want a good trustworthy boom perhaps an Atlas - dont get this - Sorry K&M, your stands are great but your boom aint!

Der Mikrofonarm gefällt und hält mein dynamisches Mikrofon gut am Schreibtisch. Ich verwende ihn in Kombination mit dem Tischstativ B000NTZKH6 - das ist leider doch etwas wackelig und da hätte ich besser B00CD1PNCY genommen. Aber gut, für das schwache Fundament kann der Arm hier nichts, das ist reine Statik. Volle Punktzahl von mir.

Everything you'd expect from "mad in Germany". Do note that both the female thread that this uses to mount onto another pole, and the male thread at the end which would receive your microphone holder clip, are both 5/8", despite how it may appear in the image. There are two versions of this product, one with the tightening knob shown here, and one with a longer rod with a ball at each end, which would presumably provide more torque for tightening. The existence of that other version did have me slightly concerned that it might be necessary to get a good fit but rest assured that is absolutely not the case. It is possible, very easily and smoothly, to get a very tight hold with this knob. Knowing that, I would say this one is better since there is no worry that the rod might bend or clank around.

The only make worth considering. Extremely well constructed; reliable and robust. A high quality item.
