Great value wheel without sacrificing performance
So there I was, hammering down the road on my commuter bicycle when I was boxed into a pothole at the last second by a car. Did I say "pothole"? You could have hid a small elephant in this thing. I tried to hop this pit, but didn't get the back wheel across very well, and BAM! POP! WHOOSH! I am now off the road with a shredded tire, destroyed tube, and a wheel that is so far from round that it was gone before I even got the bike stopped. After a fair amount of Amazon reading, I chose these tires, and was very pleased with the purchase. For their cost, they are a good weight and I found both wheels to be extremely true. The spokes are faired and easily adjustable for future truing (spoke pattern/layout) when the roads abuse you. I have found the these wheels to remain more true than my stock wheels, requiring less frequent and less drastic adjustment. I run 700x23C Gatorskins, and they fit well in the rims. I bought these tires with primary purpose of commuting (30 miles round trip) over some fairly rough (for a road bike) spots and weekend training or bike club rides. I wanted something that may fall victim to a bike-eating pothole without crushing my soul and my wallet - but didn't want something so clunky that the miles and training rides would have me yearning for more performance. These wheels worked great for that.As with any tire in this price range, don't forget the rim tape as the included tape has the same protection as a strip of newspaper. Also, note the cassette type else you'll be in the market for more than just a wheel (which can also be fun and interesting). Happy riding!

Great Wheels for the Money!
I put these on my bike in early 2019 after a car hit my and bent the original Trek wheels that were on my FX. They're great for a commuter bike, and proved to be very durable. Some scumbag stole my bike last night, and I'm about to buy another set of these for the replacement that's on the way. Obviously if you're willing to spend more you can get lighter wheels, but these are really good at this price point, and they looked great on the bike.

Affordable yet quality upgrade from cheap wheels
So far so good! This is a very affordable upgrade to a lower end bike for sure! As with cars, the single easiest way to change the whole appearance is the wheels. They even came with tape so that saved me the trouble of having to tape the rim myself. The skewers are ok, they work, but I will probably upgrade those. Also quick and easy way to convert from bolt-on axles to quick release. If I run into any issues I’ll update the review but so far pretty satisfied with these.Btw I used Kenda tubes with 48mm Presta valves and that was more than enough to clear the rim. I’m using 700x32c Continental Ride Tour tires. Getting everything put together was pretty simple but I’m glad I had one of those plastic tools for the end of the tire install!

Beware of the hubs
I bought these wheels to replace the Bontrager Race Lite wheels for my Trek 2300. The Bontragers developed cracks in the rims. These wheels came delivered safely in a single box. I checked them for true and they were both built very true. They weigh in at over a pound heavier than the Bontrager wheels but hopefully that means they will last longer. The biggest complaint I have is with the hubs. These wheels come with Vuelta bearing hubs. I haven't seen this type of bearings since my 1970's era skateboard. Even the 15 year old wheels that these replaced had sealed bearings. These hubs needed adjustment out of the box. The front were too tight and they rolled rough with noise and friction. Adjusting them for proper fit is not easy; too loose and they wobble, too tight and they grind. I can't believe that you could even buy bicycle hubs with Vuelta bearing anymore. I would have spent extra to get hubs with sealed bearings. I only have a few hundred miles on the wheels and they ride fine even if they are heavier than I expected. The price was unbeatable, but I should have looked more carefully when reading the description.

Good budget wheels with only minor issues for the price: 4.5 to 5 stars
I bought these wheels for my son's Cannondale R300. We're on a fairly tight budget and for a comparable wheelset in this price range, I'd be looking for something used on Craigslist. The wheels were boxed adequately and the QR skewers came in a little drawstring bag. Overall the wheels are attractive with the deep section rims and black bladed spokes. Lacing is 20 radial front and 24 2x rear. The spokes are evenly spaced around the hub, they are not the "paired spoke" design that is depicted. The graphics are a bit overdone in my opinion, so I removed all of the stickers with the exception of the more understated ones near the valve holes. The adhesive left a bit of residue that was easily removed with a citrus oil based cleaner. The front wheel arrived with a nice even braking surface and only minor lateral truing issues that were easily remedied. The rear wheel was true, but the rim weld was a bit off resulting in a seam on one side of the braking surface that would have caused a noticeable "pulse" in the rear braking action and exacerbated pad wear. The judicious use of a utility knife and some 150 grit sandpaper leveled it out adequately. Had the front wheel evidenced a similar seam problem I would have returned the wheelset as front braking smoothness is of paramount importance to me.The rim strips are relatively thin plastic with the valve openings somewhat elongated. As with many new rims, a slight burr was evident at the hole for the valve stem risking damage to the tube at the base of the stem. Best to remove the rim strip, deburr the hole, and ideally use Velox rim tape or a thicker/tougher rim strip. The bearings on both wheels evidenced just a bit more tightness that I care for, but not enough to motivate me to adjust them. I will reevaluate them after a few hundred miles of riding. You won't find anything even close to these wheels at this price. They're not perfect, but for our needs they fit the bill perfectly. I would certainly recommend them to others, just make sure to inspect them carefully for quality control issues as the manufacturer has to cut corners somewhere.
