I've wrapped my trees, used plastic cones, and even fenced them in. Each of these methods had issues. I finally purchased these little tree fences/guards and they work great. They allow for air movement, vermin can't get inside them, and they let the tree grow without having to constantly adjust them. When my little trees are bigger I will most likely remove them completely, but for now they are working great to protect my saplings.

My young dogwood tree was apparently tasty to rabbits. This protector is perfect for keeping the tree from being girdled. Bonus for looking neat & unobtrusive.

I bought these to collar my trees to protect them from mice during the winter under the snow, but when they arrived I sent them back after seeing that the approximate 1" mesh hole size was far too large to effectively block mice.

I ordered expecting 48” tall as worded but it’s really a 48” length roll of a 14” tall fencing. As I look through the images again, sure it’s 14x48” but NOT 48” tall. 14” tall and 48” rolled up.

The products they advertise for guarding a Christmas tree from kittens was obviously not going to work when the item is only 12 to 16 inches tall. I have two 6 month old and one 9 week old that can jump higher than that! This has worked perfectly. Advertised at 48 inches tall and 14 inches wide and there are 6 panels that you can connect together. Some reviews have stated that they are only 14 inches tall, and that is true, if you lay them on their side. 🙂 I attached 3 of them side by side to come up with an item 48 inches long and 42 inches tall (on their side). They provide plenty of zip ties. I constructed 2 of them (easily) and then attached them to make a circle 96 by 42. It encircles the small table I have with the tree on top as you can see from the photo. The kittens have wandered around it and looked at it but have not messed with anything nor attempted to climb it. Your experience may differ slightly. If you need a larger circumference you can certainly purchase another 6 panels and put it together as you need to. I found using them at the 48 inch height to be a little taller than I wanted to have around the tree.

Would have been good if it had been the 48" 6 pack as described. There were 6 15" pieces in tge package which was useless to me. I did return this item.

The ad was for a four foot tall tree guard for a youngling tree. However the way these metal mesh screens are rolled up and packaged, they end up being one foot long and 4 feet wide. Since it is thin metal mesh, when you try to stand them up at 4 feet, they crumple and bend, losing shape. Do not buy this brand unless you are willing to use tin snips to cut it up and make a bird feeder. Because they are useless as 4 foot tree guards.Only got the second star because I could repurpose them into hanging bird feeders...

Works great, and keeps the cats from clawing my new tree trunks
