Take a punt you wont be dissapointed
I was a little dubious of the reviews since most being "Amazon Vine Customer Review of Free Product" your view of quality isn't the same when you have to hand over your hard earned cash. So I took a punt thinking I could always return it if it doesn't meet expectations; In the end I am very glad I took the punt!Firstly to say price is about right creating reasonable quality for value. The base is sufficiently heavy, wide enough for support; the neck seems suitably rigid enough to stabilise and hold the magnifying lens in place. The lens optics combined with led lighting is sufficient for any small micro-soldering job. I also liked the minimalist modern look and sits well within my working environmentI have gone on a small spending spree recently to aid with my micro-soldering projects and definitely recommend this magnifying light stand for those very small jobs.

Useful magnifying lamp with just a few minor niggles.
For anyone needing some magnification to be able to clearly see small details or print, this is a very useful item. Either on your desk, craft/sewing table, or in a garage/workbench environment, you have a choice of using it on the supplied metal freestanding base, which has a black satin powder-coated finish. This base is very wide and heavy enough to be stable, although mine had some very visible rough burrs on the front edge. Also supplied is a self-adhesive black foam cushioned sticker to go underneath the metal base, so that you don’t get any scratches on your furniture. It’s already cut the the correct size and shape, but is a little tricky to line up and fit once you’ve removed the backing paper. If you prefer, this product is also supplied with a clamp to enable you to attach it to a table top or desk. The clamp adjusts to fit any depth up to a maximum thickness of 5.6cm.There are a few things to be aware of to help you decide if this product is right for you. The most important thing to note is that it can’t be run on batteries, and it’s not cordless rechargeable. If you want to use it illuminated, you need either a nearby USB socket, or access to a power socket where you can plug in your own phone charging plug. Alternatively, I have tested it myself, and it will run in any location from a charged power bank, which is very useful during power cuts or if there are no sockets available close by. This product has a fixed cable, with a useable length of approx. 165cm. The cable is attached to the lamp head through the centre of the flexible central stem, and comes out of an opening near the bottom. This cable has a USB-C connector on the end, and an in-line controller fixed part way along the cable length. This controller allows you to turn the light on and off at the touch of a button, as well ab being able to increase and dim the brightness, and choose from 3 different white light temperatures. The flexible stem allows you to bend and position the lamp/magnifier to whatever height or angle you need, and doesn’t drop or droop out of the position you’ve placed it in.The actual size of the magnifying glass area itself is 10.5cm wide, with an overall diameter of 16cm including the frame around it. This gives you 10 times magnification, but for those times when that isn’t quite enough, there is a small glass dot attached to the underside of the main glass area, measuring approx 2.4cm diameter. Within this area, the magnification is boosted to 20 times. If I had to be critical of this light, I would have preferred cordless operation rather than corded. Also, if you wanted to leave it out so that it’s always there when you need it, it could be dangerous if the sun shines onto it, which could cause a house fire. It could really do with some sort of a cover or slider to go over the magnifying glass when not in use. Finally, you can’t change the light bulbs, so once they reach the end of their useful life, you either have to discard the product, or you can continue to use it without the lighting.

Perfect!
An excellent buy for lighting craft work areas. The light is bright and the main magnifying section is really useful (I haven't used the super magnifying bit yet). I've been moving the lamp between my work table and ironing board as needed - it's not super-light to move around but it is VERY stable and the flat base slides underneath work so you can get lighting/magnification just where you want it. I've found the light so useful, that I've bought a floor-standing version to fill a 'dark spot' next to my work table. The only problem is that it is powered by USB, which might be a problem for some people.

Brilliant for the price
Did what I wanted very well. Bright light for intricate work on my mobile phone and the bendy arm stayed where I put it.

Really useful
I use this when I have to deal with tiny screws as part of a hobby, the bulk of the lens is 10x and this is by far the most useful bit of the lens, it works well at lots of different distances. The 20x is less useful, only working at a certain distance, and most of the time just gets in the way when you are using the 10x lens. The light is also useful, with a nice coverage. The goose neck is mostly good, but is tricky to get to remain in place at certain angles.Very good and easy to use.

I really needed this
I have started suffering the whole 'my phone/book smells thats why i have to keep it at arms length from my face and read' thing as Im getting older. So being in the early stages a lot of times at my desk I dont have suitable rading glasses and want to be able to inspect somethign minisclue. This magnifying glass on stand with light is perfect,. It has great magnification and one of the other issues with bad smelling phone syndrome is low light visibility is affected as well so extra illumination is also welcome. The option to have a clamp or a stand is a good choice though I do find that sometimes I cant quite get teh gooseneck to teh exact postion I want, that really needs some imporvement please as if you cant positon it to where oyu need it then it kinda defeats the purpsoe of it beign there. Theres not quite enough flexibility and range in that regard. other than that this is a fantastic item to have on the desk if its range and flexibility work for your needs
