Amigurumi Kit Designed for Beginners
Overall, the selected amigurumi designs are suitable for beginners. Out of the six options, if this is your first time crocheting, I recommend starting with the dinosaur and then moving on to the penguin. The kit provides everything you need to complete all six amigurumi projects; you don’t even need to bring your own scissors.**Christmas Tree Pattern - My Experience:**I had the opportunity to crochet an amigurumi designed for beginners in this kit. With the holidays approaching, I decided to start with the Christmas Tree. Although I consider myself a beginner and have made other amigurumi before this pattern, I still needed a lot of guidance. One significant decision when working on an amigurumi project is the yarn you choose. I typically wouldn’t use the yarn provided in the kit (medium weight, 4 Worsted), as it is thick, difficult to work with, and tends to pull apart easily. If you struggle with this yarn, I suggest switching to baby or sport weight (3) yarn, which is what I always use for amigurumi. However, you will need to purchase it separately. For this project, I used the yarn that came with the kit.The pattern is indicated in the top corner, allowing you to match the stitches you’re working on with the corresponding part of the pattern, which helps with learning how to read it (see photo). None of the stitches in this pattern were too complex for a beginner, but it does require practice and may lead to some frustration. For instance, I often had to attempt the magic circle 4 to 5 times before successfully starting my pattern (see photo). In my experience, the magic circle and the first three rows are always the most challenging.I always use markers to help me count my rows (see photo). If you’re a first-time crocheter and this is your first amigurumi project, be prepared to get a blister if you hold your hook too tightly (you'll see in the photos how tightly my stitches are—don’t do this!). I recommend starting with something other than the Christmas Tree, as it involves a more complex pattern for the tree branches (the ruffles) and the star. Instead, I would choose the dinosaur or penguin if I were to recommend one of the six options to a new crocheter. Have fun!

Just such an adorable crochet kit...
As an experienced crocheter I have always found a pattern that I wanted to make and then gathered the yarn, crochet hook, yarn needle, stuffing and all the other little tools needed to create something. This kit comes with everything you need to make these little cuties including the stuffing and foldable scissors. How great it that to have everything right on hand!!! This little kit is wonderful! I am adding a rattle insert to some of them to make them baby rattles. Very excited to make all of them! Love this kit :)

More complicated than I Anticipated
This kit is super cute and includes everything you need for someone who has never crocheted before and has no supplies. I gave this kit to my niece for her birthday, and it was her first experience with crocheting. It was definitely more complicated than we thought for a beginner, but she is starting to get the hang of it by watching videos and practicing before attempting the actual items in the knit. This is the first kit I have ever purchased, so I don’t have anything to compare it to, but seems nice quality for the money. She has enjoyed working on making the figures even though it has been more difficult to learn than we anticipated.

Review from a beginner: This is NOT for beginners
I had never crocheted before until my sister gave me a kit from another company. I don't think I'm supposed to name competitors in reviews, so I'll just say it's a well known company that makes beginner crochet kits. After years of frustration, i was able to learn thanks to their clear instructions and high quality materials. However, their kits are expensive -- more than this kit for just one pattern. So after a successful experience with theirs, I decided to get this one which includes 6 patterns. But it is not worth it at all. I've given it a couple of stars because you do get all the supplies you need, yarn, hook, scissors, needle, beads, etc. But unless you already know how to crochet fairly well, you will not be able to make these. The yarn is poor quality and splits easily (I'm a knitter, so I know what good yarn is, this isn't it). The written instructions are ok if you already know what to do but worthless if you don't. The videos have a voice over from a non-native English speaker that is hard to understand but thankfully is captioned. However, the steps are not clearly explained or broken down into stages. The video shows the person making a sc, for example, but no explanation of what she's doing other than "make a sc". When it comes to assembly, it just says to sew pieces together, not how. The patterns are of varying difficultly but no indication of which ones are best for beginners and which ones require a little more experience. I tried what appears to be the easiest, the bluebird, and I'm so frustrated just trying to get started that I'm ready to throw this in the trash. I'll keep the notions and stuffing for use in other ways, but the rest isn't worth the frustration. I'm going back to the other brand that is more expensive, but worth every penny.
