Primary Phonics, Grade K

I bought this book with the primary phonics workbook 2 and set two and two A readers. I had already purchased the level 1 workbook, readers and comprehension workbook and my daughter is a tad more the halfway through level 1. When I first started to homeschool my 6 year old- I discovered that amazon reviews were a great go to for workbook selection. I read them all. I’ve found this system works really really well for my iep kindergartener. Had I known about this workbook before I started level 1- I would have started with this workbook. This is really really basic. Simple one letter consonant beginning words. The first page is all “h”. Everything starts with an h. They write “h”13 times on the page followed by a coloring page where there are several things and all of the words as objects mixed into the page. Color just the “h” word pictures. No “q” or “x” or “z” page and no readers to go with.Level one has a workbook— vowels and sentences, yes and no questions and color to word directions. It has 20 readers and they all go online with the pages on the workbook. The readers have a comprehension workbook to go with the first ten readers. It’s made a tremendous difference for my daughter who struggles with reading. Thus far- everything she’s done in level 1 has been retained and utilized on other studies and readers. I love the phonics program WITH a accompanying sight words program like ABC MOUSE. By the time they are one the second reader of level 1 they can truly independent study. This program is worth every penny I’ve invested. Although my daughter is beyond this workbook by the time I ordered it- I’m still going to have her do it anyway for handwriting practice and Consonant review. But I would not have bought it had I known it’s Evolution in the program.

I'm a Special Education Coordinator/Teacher. I use this series for reading interventions. It is amazing. It really works when implemented correctly. It's a great product.
