I’m 50 and just getting back into a workout routine, and the CAP Barbell Adjustabell has been perfect for me. It’s incredibly easy to adjust weights—from lighter for warm-ups to heavier for strength training—and switching between exercises is smooth and fast thanks to the dial mechanism. The handle has a good grip, even with sweaty palms, and the compact design fits neatly in my home gym space, saving me the hassle of storing multiple dumbbells. I’ve been able to do a full range of moves, curls, presses, rows, even squats without feeling awkward. The adjustment process is intuitive and quick, so I stay focused on my form and reps. While these aren’t the most heavy-duty dumbbells out there, they’ve been solid for beginner-to-intermediate use. That extra convenience of not having a big set of weights cluttering up my space is worth it. Overall, if you’re starting or restarting your fitness journey later in life, this dumbbell is a fantastic tool. It’s reliable, easy to use, and great value for what it offers.

These are great. I was a little worried about buying the slightly less expensive brand in case they were wobbly, but these are super stable. They also are flat at the bottom so they don’t roll. You can change the weight very quickly. They’re pretty long though so that takes some getting used to, but it’s much better than buying a bunch of other weights. They’re also super sturdy! I bought two - one was in the manufacture’s packaging but the other was clearly a return and was packaged so terribly I almost hurt myself getting it out. When I saw the way the customer has packaged it, I thought for sure it would be broken but it’s completely fine! Super happy with the purchase.

These barbells are solid and work great. The base doesn't seem overly strong but I put the barbells down gently and I don't think I will have a problem

***** Update: 6 months in with 3-5 workouts a week and these are still rockin' like day 1! ***** I couldn't find reviews for this set of dumbbells online anywhere prior to purchasing, but I took a chance on them because I like the CAP brand, they look quite nice, and the price is very good for this amount of weight. I'm happy to say that I'm glad I took a chance on these instead of some no-name brand! Pros: - The weight selections are sequential from low to high. Some of the no-name brands I was considering had seemingly random weight orders (i.e if you want to go up 5 lbs, rotate 1 clockwise, but for 10 lbs, rotate 2 counterclockwise... which would be confusing and annoying). - The handles, when the dumbbells are docked in their holder, rotate easily but feel solid and click into place for each weight increment. When not docked, there is minimal play and they remain locked into place quite securely. I never feel like I'm holding anything but a normal dumbbell. - Regardless of how many plates you have loaded onto the handles, the dumbbells line up and slide into their base with ease. I haven't had any failed attempts where I had to lift back up and try again. Just good engineering all around. - The handles are smooth while having a nice texture, paradoxically giving a pretty good grip while not tearing up your palms (though I wear gloves for higher weights just because). Cons: - Not really the product's fault, but all adjustable dumbbells tend to be a bit wider than standard dumbbells. I haven't found this to be a huge problem, I just take care not to let them hit each other side-on for fear of breaking them. Other: - I haven't had them long enough to comment on durability, but I will be sure to update the review if there are any problems.

These adjustable dumbbells are super convenient and save a ton of space. Switching weights is fast and easy. The only downside is that if you don’t pull straight up, the plates can catch a bit when lifting from the base. Not a dealbreaker, but something to be aware of. Overall, solid set for home workouts!

These are exactly what I needed. I spent some time looking at several different brands, including some name brands. I took a chance on this one and I'm glad I did. The handles are comfortable and easy to adjust. And I like that there are plenty of weight choices so it covers all my needs.

I have a few of CAP's gym products, so I felt very confident ordering these dumbbells (ordered 2). I was right in doing so, they are a good set. They feel very sturdy and click into their weight slot easily. I use them often. To top it off, they offer amazing customer service. One of the dumbbells gave me a problem where a weight would stay loose and dropped out while initially picking them up. It rarely happened and I suspect was caused during shipment (box was a bit banged up). Since it happened so infrequently, I just dealt with it, especially as it was at max weight and was noticeable right away. I learned how to pick it up and ensured it was always in place. Of Course it manifested itself again after Amazon's return period. I filed a warranty claim and they sent out a replacement part immediately. I would never expect their quality and customer service at this price point. Great Value.

Sturdy and well built, easy to switch between weights! Works great for both my husband and I without having to have a whole rack of weight!

Just started using them and so far I love them. Easy to adjust, convenient and seem to be made well. I will edit this down the road for their longevity and durability.

Haven't had them long but seem well built, easy to use and buying process was simple and quick.

After opening the box it smelled really bad like wd40 I wiped it down then I noticed a lot of oil on the handles. The dumbbell weights already had paint coming off and poorly made. The chrome part is poorly sprayed on. Update I just tested this dumbbell and played around with the weights and inside is made of plastic which can break. Then I noticed the orange lock button on the bottom of the dumbbell that is spouse to lock the dumbbells. But it jams so the weights can fall off. Both of the dumbbells in orange button jams and you have to wiggle the dumbbells around

I purchased the 10-55lb pair of adjustable dumbbells which arrived very quickly and I was extremely impressed with them. The handles feel good, they adjust (in increments of 5lbs) very easily by turning the handles, they are not overly bulky or loud and the plates do not clang together like most other models I have tried. My only complaints would be that the bases they come with are light cheap plastic and often lift off the ground when you pick up the weight which can be annoying to detach from the weight if you hands are both holding the weights. The second potential issue I see is that the ends of the weights have a plastic cover on them, which I think could easily break if they are accidentally hit together, although it does feel like strong plastic. Time will tell how they hold up. But for the price (I got a pair for $240 cad on a black Friday deal) they are very impressive.
