Fishing rod (Fenwick) cork handle application. Did not result in satisfactory results.
Sealant was applied to cork handle of my fishing rod. The rod brand is a Fenwick.Upon opening there is a thin plastic wafer that affixed itself to the bottle rim. Initially I thought this was intentional to scrape off and reduce the load of sealant to brush since it was thick (i.e. Elmers glue). The instructions indicated applying a thin coat.I then determined that this wafer was not intended to control brush load and realized it was part of the cap (seal).Applying a thin coat was difficult, the brush is just too stiff (nylon) and worked more like...spatula / trowel. Application was rather uneven and thought it would self level. I let it set for 30 minutes and it was still tacky and figured I had better give it 24 hours. Next morning it was still tacky so I thought some radiant heat (sunlight) might help set / cure the sealant. I had it out for 8+ hours and made sure to turn the handle. The tackiness was slightly reduced and the finish was a bit rough. Figure I would use my leather gloves (pourous surface) and give it a rub down and it might improve the reduce tacky feel and improve finish.I will be returning to Amazon.I would recommend that the manufacturer consider:1) titrate the sealant or recommend dilution ratio and use multiple application2) recommend using a bristled brush or simply change the brush / cap stiffnessNote: I would presume that the tackiness would naturally hold fine debris (dirt magnet) and the rough surface (increased surface area) would do add accumulation of same.Regardless, I presume the aforementioned is acceptable to most who use as a cork sealant(?) i.e. sandals. However, I hope that my recommendations can be reviewed and perhaps a change in consistency of sealant and brush change could be considered. In the meantime I will be looking for an alternative sealant.Thank You!

Necessary if you own Birks, or shoes like them, trust me.
My Birkenstocks were looking a bit dull, so I ordered this token my cork happy. It goes on kind of milky (yes even when you just use a thin layer, as you should). It dried clear and my cork looked new again. This is a must have for anyone with exposed cork shoes, to keep then looking new and lasting a whole lot longer (you don't want your cork to crumble).

Works well!
I got this to treat the cork soles of my Birkenstocks and the cork handles of fishing rods. I've used it on the Birkenstocks and it works great. Easy to use and does exactly what it's supposed to. I have no doubt it will work just fine on the fishing rod handles too.

Absolutely clear tough seal that is slightly shiny
PERFECTLY sealed my Birks and is clear. My cork bed was REALLY worn out and so I had to go over a few cracks a couple times and that did the trick! From now on I will for sure seal them every couple months as I wear them almost daily and in a dry desert area - so they dry out more quickly.

You need this!
If you wear Birkenstock type, cork soled shoes, you really ought to buy this product. I've been wearing Birkenstocks for over 20 years, and I always use a cork sealer. It definitely extends the life of the shoes. If the seal is broken, the cork gets dried out and starts disintegrating. So try this product to protect your investment. I originally used the Birkenstock cork sealer, but I couldn't find the paint on kind anymore. So I tried this and it seems to work just as well.

Bought it for Birkenstocks. It sealed Birkenstocks. Mission accomplished.
This is exactly what I expected. Cork sealer. It does not work miracles (i.e. if your Birkenstocks are shredded, there's not much to be done). It's effective. It took me a couple coats in areas that were dryer. Otherwise, my Birks are back to like new condition--well, at least the cork is.

Nice alternative to UB-40
It has its own brush and is easy to apply. I used on my cork handles on my walking sticks. It looks milky and runny when you apply, but dries fairly quickly. Does not alter the color of the cork. The cork feels a bit tacky which is a plus when your hands get sweaty and lose their grip. It says to reapply after cleaning every few months....so this bottle should last years. Bought this instead of UB-40...less expensive. We’ll see how well it protects...

Great for Birkenstocks
I just recently found out that you are supposed to seal the cork on Birkenstocks every once in a while. I tested it on my oldest Birks first. They where in sad shape and all dried out. Came out great. The cork looks like new. I did use my own brush which is a little softer. This is a great product.

Great protection
Good stuff. A little like PVA glue, goes on white and dries shiny and clear. Have worn my birks after application for a few months now. Product does not flake, crack or come off. Make sure you wipe off any excess after application as it will not come off once dried.

Revives your old Birkenstocks! 😁 ♥️
Superb product! Used it on my year old Birkenstocks and they now look like I've had them only a month! Goes on white and dries to a clear finish. Revives the Cork which was beginning to get dry and crumbly. IOnly used a small amount so plenty left for further applications. Definitely worth investing in.

Doesn't dry clear!
This doesn't dry clear, unfortunately it dries to an an old aged cork look aging my 2 new fishing rods cork handles by ~20 years! Not happy, but if you don't mind an old nicotine look go for it!
