High quality, thick protein powder
This is a pretty good protein powder. It got a great rating on Labdoor and it confirmed that 93% of the calories came from protein which amounted to 46g/2scoops, which is pretty good comparatively, among other things, and prompted me to try it.As other reviewers have said, it has more of a consistency of pancake batter which results in really thick shakes (I mainly put it with a banana, almond milk, some water, some sort of 100% juice, chia or flax, and instant breakfast packets for added nutrition). That thickness can be good or bad... if you're not putting much else in there, you have a thick shake, however if you want to add chia, vegetables, greek yogurt, or an extra banana, you're going to have to add a lot of extra liquids to allow the blender to mix it up. As far as taste, it tastes fine, not super strong, but definitely flavored. I'd wouldn't hesitate buy it again.

Perfect Ingredient for Smoothies
I use MetRx Protein powder in my smoothies as one of the main ingredients. I make the smoothies in my blender, using a cup of unsweetened almond milk, a cup of plain, fat-free Greek yogurt, one scoop Chocolate MetRx Protein Plus powder, two teaspoons of canola oil, two tablespoons of dark chocolate unsweetened cocoa powder and a banana and zap them together. It is delicious!!! I sometimes add either a quarter teaspoon of mint extract or two table spoons of peanut butter powder. I also do the same thing with MetRx vanilla protein powder, with the addition of a half cup of strawberries (no cocoa powder, of course). These smoothies are delicious, and with the addition of the MetRx protein powder, are very nutritious, as well.

Good taste and good price
I've tired a few types of protein powders before setting on the MET-Rx powders. Some protein I've tried are too bitter and others are overly sweet. This brand strikes a great balance on the taste side and isn't too expensive. Unlike other brands where the big container is only partially filled, the powder fills all the container for these. It's a blend and not all whey isolate, but that's overrated imo. The absorption rate is decent enough and the whole protein timing thing is a myth anyways. Some people favor whey isolate for stomach problems, but these have not made me bloated at all.I favor the chocolate flavor, but the vanilla isn't bad either. The chocolate powder are more coarse, like coco powder, where as the vanilla has fine texture of formula/milk powder. Both flavors dissolve well in water. I add about 8 oz of water per scoop, and that gives it a nice thick texture.

Chocolate is no good, vanilla is better and more versatile.
Flavor: The chocolate is not good. The vanilla is much better and more versatile.Protein: Good quality protein as always.Price: Affordable. On average is $11 cheaper than vanilla flavor. It is a crime.

Fantastic Protein Powder, good value.
This stuff is great. I've tried a few different protein powders recently, but decided to give Met-Rx a shot after reading a recommendation from a website that does scientific analyses of different protein supplements (see labdoor.com).As far as taste and consistency goes, it reminds me a lot of a chocolate malt. It is definitely thicker than most other protein powders, but I actually prefer it that way. To me, drinking thin, chocolate flavored water is a little weird. The powder dissolves well using a shaker cup with one caveat. If you're the kind of person who makes protein shakes with almond milk, this stuff doesn't dissolve perfectly. It's still not bad, but it definitely dissolves better in water. I favor water anyways, so it's not an issue for me.

Best tasting protein!
I've been drinking this protein shake for 17 years. After having had gastric bypass surgery in 2000, I was looking for a shake that tasted good and had a long enough string of amino acids to be absorbed as quickly as possible. Though this is not hydrolized (breaks down the quickest to be absorbed), it's a close 2nd. I mix it with a little hazelnut sugarfree coffee creamer, some unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and just a touch of coffee extract or orange extract, toss in a whole bunch of ice, and it's thick with the consistency of a cross between a frosty and a slushy. Very good!

Rich flavor, high-quality protein sources, could mix better
Below is the text from my review of the vanilla version. The same things apply here, except that the chocolate does not seem to mix quite as well as the vanilla. I find that it clumps to my bottle more easily and simply requires more effort. Not sure why that is, but it's a small nuisance and won't stop my from buying more of it. Sadly, no subscribe & save for chocolate (yet).Man oh man are there some terrible protein shakes out there. I don't know if some companies just don't even try to flavor their mixes or what, but I have literally thrown some away after a few uses because I couldn't stand them. Fortunately, Met-Rx has actually made theirs pretty good when mixed with milk OR water. I typically mix it with almond milk but it is still drinkable in water. I suggest a 1:1 ratio of water/milk to scoops of protein, but you can cut back the water/milk if you prefer a thicker consistency (though your bottle will be harder to clean). As for the quality of the protein, a recent independent test showed this to be at the top. It led the pack as far as label accuracy, product purity, and nutritional value. 93% of its total calories came from the protein, which blew away the rest of the group's mean of 69%. That means when you make a shake, you're not wasting calories on filler. This does contain sucralose. I'm not concerned about it, but I know that some people have an aversion to it for some reason.
