AMAZING... until I updated them.
Before firmware, I was seriously impressed with these. Deep, warm sound signature. Strong, stable connection. Soothing Japanese voice in my ear. However, after the connection I am having frequent drops in music playback. On top of that, the sound changed. Now it's brighter, with slightly more prominent vocals. Not bad necessarily, but very generic tuning. I don't see any way of rolling back the firmware, and I'm very disappointed. If you get these, DO NOT update the firmware. Put them in, enjoy them, and enjoy that soothing Japanese voice. Five stars without the firmware update. Two stars with it. I'll give it a three. As of this review, I repeat that you SHOULD NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE. It literally turns a five-star product into a two-star product.Update:These issues did line themselves out after a restart of everything, but keep in mind that you could experience this when updating firmware. I'm also left with a half English, half Japanese voice prompt after switching to try out the English in the app. However, at this point I'm just going to leave well enough alone and enjoy them as they are.

Serious Contenders
I was not familiar with the Aviot brand from Japan, but I expect they will be a serious contender as they expand their US presence - these are brilliant earbuds, particularly at this price point, and can hold their own against earbuds 3 or 4x their price. I’ll definitely be telling my friends about them. The packaging is premium, with a magnetic box latch and custom foam inserts that hold the charging case and earbuds. Pairing was effortless, and charging is simple, with both USB-C and wireless options. The cases have a good heft to them, with the metal nozzles adding a nice heft and solidity to them. The duck tail casing backs fit my ears really well, and help keep them snug even when I’m moving around. Multiple sets of alternate silicone ear tips let you dial in the fit. The app is great - easy to use with an intuitive design, and with immediate results - the equalizer settings are fantastic, and do a great job of highlighting the range of these earbuds. I also like the tuning of the Spatial Audio - it really opens up the soundstage without diluting the impact of the sound.About that sound - I’m seriously impressed. I’m accustomed to earbuds around this price point providing fun sound that frays around the edges. These deliver across the spectrum, creating a massive soundstage that delivers impressive results, from thunderous bass all the way up to crisp highs. The snarling guitar reveal on “Reckless” by St. Vincent’s explodes like you’re in a stadium. The horns and strings in “Not Like Us” by Kendrick float over a growling bass line accompanied by tightly dialed vocals. “Red Wine Supernova” is a pop dream, with Chappel’s voice and overdubs letting the highs shine on the chorus. I’m surprised and completely delighted. The ANC and transparency modes are both impressive, the former delivering neutral silence, and the latter doing a great job of bringing ambient sound. Unlike the best ANC/transparency earbuds I’ve used, my own voice tends to be very resonant when I’m speaking, but at this price point, again, these are pretty fantastic. The only quirk I’ve really found is that all of the voice prompts are in Japanese. This can apparently be changed in the app. While I welcome this as an opportunity to keep my language skills fresh, I haven’t been able to get the app to let me try out the English options (it’s always sending me to a firmware update screen that ). I suspect that a reinstall of the app would likely fix the situation, but in the meantime it’s kind of cool.

It is all Japanese
I got these ear buds and charged them. Then when I went to put them in my ears and Bluetooth them to my phone the voice was in Japanese. The same goes with the app it is a mix of Japanese and English. You have to agree with the user agreement which was in Japanese. Once I got past that the instructions were in English but were difficult to understand. These Earbuds did Bluetooth to my phone easily enough but they were not very loud and I have found no way to get them much louder than they are. The sound quality was okay what I could here of it.

Good quality sound.
Impressed from first opening the box as there was a WOW factor. The sound quality and connectivity are good. Only real downside is they are a bit more uncomfortable in my ear than others. For the price point I would recommend.
