Yes, you guessed it.. this soft shell helmet makes me look and feel "special". I appreciate the supple but firm little pads all around. They keep me from getting dizzy when I bang my head. But really, I do like this version better than most others because it covers the back of my head, while others leave a big hole back there. It fits well overall, I have a 58cm head diameter (don't be jealous) and covers it all along with my ears. Plus when worn I am reminded of the very stylish conehead look that I've been trying to achieve. I may even wear it to my son's bar mitzvah. At the very least, it will be worn for my safety at our neighborhood block party football games and the wrestling matches that come after. Thanks DGXINJUN!

This is good for what it's made for-mild shock and bump protection. It's definitely not going to provide as much cushion as a hard shell helmet, but is good when breathability and less bulk are needed.We actually got this for my son when canoeing, to protect against the occasional out of bounds paddle bonk on the head by over enthusiastic siblings. It should do the trick for this purpose, and would likely work for minor contact sports as well.My son is almost 8 and the medium just fits and is not at all loose. I like the velcro straps in the back allow you to get a perfect fit and the chin strap keeps the helmet in place. The material and holes make it breathable and the pads feel firm with a little bit of squish, to absorb impact and not allow direct contact with the head. Note the pads are not memory foam or some other super squishy foam, they have a sort of gel feel to them and remind me of those wrist supports on ergonomic mouse pads.
