On-device and app controls
I hsve an original Anova sous vide circulator which I've used quute a bit. I bought this for a famiky member who, I discovered, already had one. So I have kept and use it. It has the controls on the stick and can run from an app, which doesn't provide much more. I likd the controls on the stick. Sous vide is a terrific method, we love it.

Great for film developers.
First things first, I've never used this to cook with, so I can't comment on that. I use it for developing film at home and it does a great job of keeping my chemicals at the correct temperature in the water bath. I find the temperature is accurate based on my external thermometer which gives me additional confidence. I'm sure it does great with cooking.I also like that it's smaller than other sous vide cookers I've owned. It does a great job of circulating the water and keeping steady. You have to make sure you keep the water past the min mark or it'll shut off.

Love this product
We LOVE this product. Great quality and makes meat so easy to cook and so much more tender and juicy. Easy to use. Pretty quiet and super easy to clean.

Bluetooth connection is flacky
The bluetooth connection is flaky. My machine clears the settings when it looses the connection to my phone. I had that happen to me the other day when I went to the grocer for a few things. Got back to the water cooling off by quite a bit and the machine on and doing nothing. So, yeah, I tested it out to make sure. I set it up with the app on my phone. Let it run for a bit. Long enough to effect the water temp. I went out to the porch and checked the mail box. Came back in to the setting being cleared.Don't know if it is a hardware issue or an app issue. Using the app with mine means leaving my phone in the room with the cooker and bath. That is not an option.Thankfully it still works with manual settings. Setting it up manually lets me do crazy things like leave my house. Been using it all day without issue.So there we go.

Easy to set up and works with any container
My husband has trouble swallowing, so meat has to be very tender and not dry. He hasn't been able to eat steak or similar cuts of meat for years. Our neighbor suggested cooking with a sous vide, and I wanted something that was basic and easy to use. We were sold on this simple model with the very first use! The 1 1/2 inch thick sirloins had virtually no fat and no marbling, so they looked like they would be chewy. After seasoning the steaks, I packed them individually in quart-size Ziploc freezer bags, and removed most of the air by squeezing, immersing them most of the way into water to push out more air, then sealing the bags before immersing them completely. After 1 1/2 hours at 130 degrees followed by a quick sear of 3 minutes on each side on the grill of my air fryer set at 400 (topped with a bit of margarine while searing the 2nd side), those steaks were perfectly medium rare throughout and as tender and juicy as a NY Strip or Porterhouse at a decent restaurant. I can't wait to try other, cheaper and tougher cuts. My husband loves steak, and he is really happy that sous vide cooking will let him eat it again.Note: This particular model does not come with an adjustable clamp. It can be used with any container as long as the water reaches the minimum level and does not exceed the maximum level. I still chose to purchase a sous vide container with a flip-top lid and rack to hold the bags upright and separate so the water can circulate evenly around the bags. I am glad I did, and I would recommend doing it. The container also stores the rack and insulating sleeve as well as the sous vide machine.
