Nice but pricey
There are a lot of pirate dress up kits on the market aimed at male pirates, but fewer at female ones, and having a New Year’s Eve Pirate themed fancy dress event to attend though I would try this set out. This classic vintage pirate costume accessories set includes a patterned pirate bandana head scarf,. This is lovely and has a silken feel to it. It has been left unfolded meaning you can style it your own way which is great as not everyone has the same hairstyle to wrap around. It also comes with a red pirate sash which is plenty big enough to wrap around the waist and tie too. Other accessories are also included such as a pirate necklace, bracelet, eye patch and pirate earring. I particularly like the fact that the earring is clip-on, so no piercing is required, but the accessories are a bit plastic if I’m honest. Some nice ideas and items but rather expensive for what you get in this set.

a good selection of accessories to start you swashbuckling career with!
This is really good. It contains a lot of accessories to dress up as a pirate, though you may need a suitable shirt, waistcoat, hat, parrot or similar to complete the look. The sash and head scarf are lovely quality and the scarf in particular is especially pretty and could easily be worn without the pirate look. The listing even has a video which shows you how to tie it on so it looks good. You also get an eye patch, which looks good as well as a bunch of jewellery, including a large looped earring. This clips on so no need to get your ear pierced! The jewellery isn’t the best quality but has some weight to it, which helps. The bling that goes round the neck is joined together which I didn’t realise to start with and tried to untangle it, unsurprisingly to no avail! I think tht all helps with the look. What I thought let it down was that the coins attached to the jewellery clearly had a head of Elizabeth II on them, which sort of didn’t fit in with my chronology of pirates, which was pre 1830s. One of the coins was even a facsimile of a old half-penny. Even though this has a galleon on one side I don’t think the date of 1961 worked with a pirate themed costume. This didn’t put me off though and I think it’s a great set of accessories.I think you get quite a lot for your £14.99
