Starship: Rising

Don’t watch the trailer of this film like I did and think 🤔 “ oh this looks like a good film that seams to have pasted me by?” Well it’s NOT ! ! ! The “acting “ in this film was dreadful, each scene was filmed from one angle only , the script was written by a ten year old, it looks like most of the budget was used for the outer space scenes which were not all bad. I have NEVER stopped watching a film before but this one I felt I couldn’t go on wasting my life on this crap, I only endured 25 minutes of this shit film and was completely lost, didn’t know who’s who and were they were or what time is was set in. Please don’t waste your time and money with this film hence the 1 star ⭐️ rating.

I can live with low budget (see Moon its excellent and all filmed for about £2.50). I have no problem with ripping off ideas from just about every Sci-Fi movie and Tv show ever made - after all most of them repeat the favour. I can even live with the amazingly wooden acting. But please please please tell the director that trying to fit a whole mini series of plot into 90 min was never going to work - so you have dangling plot lines all over the place unrealised half ideas never fully resolved. Thus it leaps from scene to scene with an over blown music/SFX track trying to blow you into next week. Its hard on the eyes as well with over done CGI and multiple pointless space battles - OK we get it you are flying the best spaceship in the fleet - therefore why is the rest of the fleet so stupid to keep attacking you. Its a shame because some of the planet scenes/cities are quite good.Overall save your cash don't buy

No real story, does not flow, don't bother, find something better to do, like watching grass grow.

don't, unless your a 10 year old, it's rubbish, worst of all the dialog, plastic actors, with no natural flow, it's bitty, can't explain. but don't waste your money.

Watched with an open mouth: could not believe the director lost the plot. The cybermen costumes, the drag artiste makeup, the Blake 7 ship controls: madness. The one star is for the CGI, which was wasted on this film, although the that was nearly removed because of the 'weapons fire' in space. I agree that something can be so bad, it can be good, so I am awaiting the sequel. I will be better prepared and ensure that I am mildly intoxicated.

This was dire, no mater how much I tried to hang on and see it through to the end it just did not work for me. The CG back grounds were impressive but the script and acting fell way short. Looking at the other reviews it is probably best decsribed as Jeremy Clarkson... whoops I mean Marmite.
