Tons of information
I am reading this book in anticipation of a knee replacement. I am impressed with the amount of information. It is helping me understand the function of the knee and reaffirms the fact that I need to get this surgery done. There are so many valuable pieces of information I am glad I am reading it. I feel I will be ready for surgery in a couple of months. This surgery is not for the faint of heart, but this book is giving me confidence that, I will be OK as long as I follow the recommendations. I recommend this book to anyone who has suffered with any issues in the past or is anticipating surgery of any kind.

Knee Surgery: The Essential Guide to Total Knee Recovery (book)
Book: Knee Surgery: The Essential Guide to Total Knee Recovery -- I received this book (written by a doctor) recently and have not had a chance to read all of it yet, but it looks very interesting when I skim through it. It came highly recommended to me by a person who had knee surgery; she felt this book answered a lot of questions and had all the information she needed to know for pre- and post-surgery therapies, etc. I am anxious to sit down and read through it before I have my knee replacement surgery next month. I gave this five stars based on my friend's glowing report about the book.

Good resource!
Good to read if planning to have or think you may need knee surgery. I had arthroscopic surgery for a torn meniscus over a year ago and bought this book sometime after that. Wish I had read it earlier, it would have helped in rehab. You need to be an informed patient. First, coincidentally, in the Wall Street Journal of April 3, 2012, there is a good article on the "Jeremy Lin Knee"--the torn meniscus. Having read that article and other literature, I am not convinced that surgery was absolutely the best option for me. The knee has been weaker since then and I still struggle with osteoarthritis and related knee issues. I digress, but the point is be informed. This book is, in my opinion, a good resource for anyone facing the prospect of knee surgery. Read it, do as much additional research as you can. Be informed. Manage your care! Strongly consider options other than surgery. However, if it turns out surgery is necessary, this book can help you. (PS This is a four and a half star rating. Just can't quite say "loved it." May be the subject matter.)

Wish I'd had this sooner!
I've had two knee surgeries due to injuries which then found arthritis I didn't know I had. I face the possibility of two knee replacements and doing everything I can to avoid it. This book covers EVERY aspect from emotional to physical and spiritual! Great exercises to add on to what I've done with physical therapy. I recommend this book to anyone facing knee issues.

Pending Knee Surgery
Since my knee issues may require knee surgery I ordered this book. It is very easy to follow and I especially appreciate the attention given to this type of journey and how it takes a toll on your emotions. I would recommend this book to anyone who is going into surgery or going down the road of intense PT. High Recommended!Jen DWWHS Class of '93

Great for Pre- and Post-Surgery
I first read this book at the public library and knew I had to buy it. It is packed full of very useful advise both for pre-surgery and post-surgery. Doctors are just too busy to give you all the information you should know about before surgery. Strongly recommend this book.

Not a new book. It has been used. I’m disappointed.
I loved the book but disappointed that it’s not new! It’s a used book that has dog eared pages! That was a disappointment when I bought a “new” book!
