Slay The Spire: The Board Game - Cooperative Fantasy Board Game

10 stars! As a fan of the video game, this tabletop version is very true to the spirit of the game. Every piece is well-crafted and the art is crisp and colorful. I have not played with anyone unfamiliar with the original game, so can't say how beginner-friendly it would be. It's very fun to play and the rules are clear. Gameplay requires a lot of space for boards, tokens, and decks. The set includes labeled bags for each character for ease of saving progress so you don't have to finish a full run in one sitting (it can be a long game)! Worth every cent.

Amazing adaptation of the video game. Other long-coop games tend to burn me out, but the frequency of decisions in this game makes it feel a lot more fast-paced. The updates to cards in the boardgame are all very creative and fit the game very well. There's not a ton of "admin" as the game has been simplified quite a bit. The collaborative aspect of it is very fun as it's much easier to set up crazy combos when you have multiple other people to work with. Getting rewards always feels so good - the card rewards are genuinely addictive, much moreso than in the video game. Feels very balanced so far as well. With 3 people, our first run of Act 1 took a little over 2 hours, but that's likely due to it being our first time with the board game. My copy arrived in perfect condition as well, no issues with the delivery.

Absolutely amazing game. Each character can be played in various ways, making the game fresh each time. Everything is good quality - definitely worth the price. It's also similar, but different, to the video game, so it's fun for people transferring to in-person play.

Based upon the video game of the same name. They nailed this game perfectly! If you know the video game, you will have no trouble picking the game up. If you are not familiar with the board game, it is not hard to learn. This is a deck-builder where the goal is to defeat the boss at the top of the tower. Each round you move one step up the tower, picking the path that you think will lead to victory. At each level there could be an event, a merchant, or monsters to fight. If you succeed in making it to the top of the tower, you will face off against a boss, and if you succeed you move on to the next act and if you manage to stay alive to collect all the keys, you go up aginat the tower boss. Their are even achievements you can earn along the way. If you enjoy the video game, this is absolutely worth putting on your game table! If you do not know the video game but enjoy deck builders, this is definitely worth a look!

Fantastic game! Play is very balanced and captures the feeling of the video game perfectly. Easy game play to pick up even for an 8 year old.

Bought this as a gift for my nephews. I already owned a copy. Perfect for fans of the video game and deck builders alike.

very fun and well made

Awesomely fun and challenging game, does a great job at taking the computation intensive mechanics from Slay the Spire and makes them doable with people. Excellent packaging and storage, the only thing I miss from the original game is being able to get lots of copies of one type of card, this results in build variety going down, and might make it a bit less replayable. But the fact that all characters have been included in this game and they're all fun to play is above and beyond anything I could expect from a board game recreation, it's amazing even playing alone, playing four players is a bit difficult to manage though, might take you like 12 hours to beat the game if you try that.

Amazing game, lots of fun. Rules could be clearer in places, been a few edge cases that arent explained, but you can just interpret it how youd like anyway! Very high quality cards and pieces, easy to start and to save your game, lots of space in the box to store everything. Highly recommended! I actually find it more enjoyable than the video game!

This is genuinely one of the best board games I’ve ever played. It translates the mechanics from the video game very well into a physical medium. To get the most out of the game, it is nice to have some friends to play with. As with most board games, all parties need to be willing to invest the time and learn the mechanics for this to feel good. Even if you’re solo though, the game is still a blast to play.
