A SECRET Indian super-fruit!!!!
I think I need to explain a bit about my research which led me to AMLA, which is also known as the 'Indian Gooseberry".)This fruit has its origins in AYURVEDA, which is an ancient and traditional style of Indian medicine which translates as a "science of life", as Ayur = life and Veda = science or knowledge. There are two principles behind this medicine, firstly that the mind and body are inextricably linked, and secondly that the mind is the most powerful force to heal and transform the body.I am constantly searching for natural sources for healing and maintaining the body, and kept finding reference to this style of medicine, and more importantly its benefits. I was therefore very interested to try this AMLA FRUIT, which boasts many health benefits, which of course, I cannot confirm medically however, given we are now realising that nature's garden has cures for most (if not all our ailments), I was willing to try.Just for information purposes, here are some of the health benefits purported for this fruit: -1. Slows down ageing and brightens the skin :)2. Increases metabolic activity;3. Reduces and maintains Blood Sugar;4. Prevents Ulcers;5. Anti-inflammatory properties;6. Purifies the blood (and circulation) as it is packed with antioxidants;7. Prevents greying of the hair;8. Increases hair growth when alma powder is mixed with honey and yoghurt and applied as a mask;9. Rich source of polyphenols which are micronutrients with antioxidant properties needed for health and wellbeing on many levels - AMLA has 30 times more polyphenols than red wine (and 20 times more vitamin C than lemon juice!!!10. Protects the cardiovascular system and promotes normal blood pressure;11. Boosts immunity;12. Rich source of digestive fibre.Well, the list of benefits seems to be never-ending, and there is much buzz about this super fruit on the Internet. For me it was ulcer, blood and the cardiovascular benefits that sold me to trying this. I recently had an ulcer and it was terrible, so natural prevention seems wise, plus the antioxidant "super powers" attracted me.That said - I do NOT like tasting horrible fruits, of which we are sold the ' no pain, no gain' message. GREAT NEWS - This tastes GREAT!!! It comes as small candied wedges of the berry, which are firm initially but on chewing loosen in texture. The taste is actually vey palatable, as AMLA FRUIT has a slight taste of seemingly "red wine" of all things, as if fermenting wine is in the fruit. I chew them at night, to hopefully enjoy the benefits working on my system overnight :)I would definitely RECOMMEND this AMLA FRUIT candy given all the cited potential benefits!!!Clearly, I cannot give definitive results or data on this fruit, however, the candy is pleasant to eat, and so much data is out there suggesting this fruit is packed with health benefits, that I am sticking with them and will buy more when this 250g bag is complete. I even offer them to my children, and they like the taste too.

Dissatisfaction
I am very unhappy with this product it looks awful and disgusting. The quality does not look good at all and it looks gone off. The colour of the Amla should be more greenish and sugar coating is dried up. Avoid.
