A Real Artistic Great In The Pop Art World That I'd Never Heard Of, Even When Studying Art!
This is a well-written and researched book, nice print quality, etc and tells a fascinating story that I was unaware of. Everyone knows Peter Blake and David Hockney, how many know of Pauline Boty? Until I read an online article (Bonhams I think), I'd never heard of her either. Phenomenal and groundbreaking. Also a bitter sweet story. What Pauline Boty did was better to me than anyone you can compare her to in the era that she most worked in (1960s). I'm pleased to know of her work now, and hope that she doesn't get forgotten (unlikely now) because she was a woman and died young. It seems that there are enough illustrated examples in the book to cover the important works. But was she brilliant or what? Maybe there are even more that I've not heard of, but it puts the last few decades of British art to shame. Its more radical and modern, also timeless. And ironically, full of life.

Excellent
This is a well written and informative book, with lots of reproductions of Pauline Boty's art. I'm so pleased that I have learnt about this important artist from the 60's.

Very good insight into the life & work of Pauline Boty
Very good insight into the life & work of Pauline Boty. Sadly she died at a very young age 50 years ago and at last her art is being recognised as important in the pop art era of the sixties.

Excellent art book
Excellent book on a sadly little known artist.Obviously knew Hockney at Royal College and delighted to find a long section on her in anAli Smith novel.

Great book about an artist deserving recognition
Pauline Boty is a great Pop artist from the 60s who studied at the RCA when Derek Boshier, Patrick Caufield & David Hockney were there. She would, I believe, have achieved the same fame as the others had she not been tragically struck down by cancer ar the age of just 28. This book and the exhibition on which it is was based, it is to be hoped will go some way to restoring Pauline Boty's name to the pantheon of 60s British Pop artists.
