Google says a bathtub holds at least 35 gallons so 8-10 bags oughta do it. **Q: Is this a high glutinous rice used to make fermented rice wine?** A: No. This is a polished, medium grain sticky rice. This is for using as a rice to be served as a side with a meal. Because this is a sticky rice it will be easier to eat with Japanese style chopsticks. You need to look for a glutinous sweet rice for what you want to do. **Q: where is product grown? Thank you.** A: I have a bag, and it says "Product of USA". Yet the distributor JFC international, distributes products from Japan and Asia. I haven't found where it says this rice is grown in California. However California is the 2nd largest producer of rice ,next to Arkansas, in the United States. **Q: What Type Is This?** A: It is a medium white rice. You have to cook it. It is not A quick/minute rice. It is a sticky rice. I haven't tasted rice this good since I lived in Japan. ONLY PROBLEM: you can't follow regular rice cooking instructions when using Japanese rice. Nishiki rice (and all Japanese rice) requires a different amount of water to cook in comparison to other types of rice such as, American long grain or basmati rice. If using a regular rice cooker, the ratio for this rice is one part rice, to 2 parts water. So if you want to cook 1 cup of nishiki rice, you'll need 2 cups of water. After washing rice thoroughly (I spend quite a long time washing my rice, emptying the water and repeating several times. This is what I was taught to do with the rice, when I lived in Japan.
