NYX Professional Makeup Lip IV Hydrating Glossy Lip Stain with 12HR Hydration - Mocha Me Wet (Brown)

Instant favorite, I want to put this on all the time! I usually dislike lipgloss, and bought this because I wanted a stain that didn't feel as dry as some do. But the gloss is also fantastic -- it doesn't have that sticky feel, it doesn't attract hair, and it feels so incredibly hydrating from the minute I put it on. It does very slightly feather into my vertical wrinkles around my mouth (they are fairly deep, since I'm nearly fifty and smoked most of my life), but nothing near as much as other glossy lipsticks and glosses, and I have to really examine myself up close to even notice. If I wipe off the gloss after ten minutes to just wear the stain, it doesn't look like it went into those lines at all. The stain lasts me about 8 hours (depending on what I eat -- greasy things will ofc remove it faster), but I honestly want to reapply the gloss at that point anyway. It also comes off evenly -- I haven't had the issue of color staying bright and solid all around my lips, but being gone in the middle. The smell (and taste) is similar to coconut oil -- faint coconut, and very "natural" -- not the cloying fake coconut smell you get in some cosmetics. With its being so hydrating (I feel it work better than most of my lip care products, including the famous LaNeige lip sleeping mask -- and yeah, I tried putting it on before bed, and the glossy look and hydrating feeling were still there the next morning), and so versatile, I think this is about the best value for your money you can get. Small downside: the color swatches don't feel super accurate -- even those where they show all colors on different skin tones. I expected this to be a bit more muted and more pink, and instead this color ended up being bright red, like a true bright red lip, which is a bit less wearable. The stain is fine, but also veers red. I have pale olive skin, and my lips aren't very naturally colored, so any stain definitely shows up bright, and that's fine, but a red lip isn't always the best choice for a daytime look, so I wish the name and the swatches would be a little more accurate. I will be buying more colors, though, cause I love it just that much.

Im really liking this product, NYX Lip IV Hydrating Glossy Lip Stain, color #2, Hydra Honey. I am happy with most everything it claims to achieve. The quality is great, as is the color pigment. Goes on smoothly and feels good, not sticky. It has staying power (the key is to let it set) though I didn’t get 12 hours out of it. More like 8 hours, for me. But In all fairness, I did drink coffee and ate some fries. I’m including 2 photos, one after application, second, 5 hours later. Hope this helps.

I love the NYX lip stain! This is my second one. The only complaint is that they seem to leave my lips drier. So I try to let it dry down and use chapstick or lip balm over it. Overall though, the color is so pretty, the texture is good, it dries down pretty quick and leaves a tint on for hours. It doesn’t seem to last all day, but I’d say a good 3-4, maybe 5 hours. The colors are beautiful! I’ve had this one and the bubblegum!

I love this product. It’s a bit thin so a little goes a long way when applying and the applicator works well. As a gloss it’s not sticky at all, and it leaves a great matte stain when blotted or as it wears. The color is true to the photos and it doesn’t have a noticeable smell. The product is small, but right for the price and fits easily in my smallest clutch. Will buy again.

It applies evenly. It’s a thick formula and will get on your teeth easily. It doesn’t dry down. It leaves a faint very unnoticeable stain. Doesn’t wear long at all. It’s beautiful when applied and is very glossy. It lasts as long as any other gloss. Not long at all. It feels good, but I wouldn’t say it’s hydrating properties extend beyond the initial application. If I wasn’t told it’s supposed to stain, I wouldn’t have noticed. That’s how much it stains.

Nyx is one of my top two or three brands that I prefer for makeup. There are several reasons for this. The first one is that it's super affordable, especially for the level of quality that they provide. They are consistently excellent, across the board, whether it's for something for your eyes, your lips... And this hydrating lippy is no exception. I love the color and the fact that even after you drink or eat something, the color is still quite present. It's very flattering, hydrating and just enough gloss to make it interesting.

Such great colors and does actually leave a stain! You do have to reapply after eating, but that is pretty typical. It does stick to my water bottle - but I still have the stain on, lasting my entire work shift, if I don't eat. It feels very glossy and smooth upon application. It feels extremely light weight, super moisturizing, and is very easy to apply! 10/10 would recommend!

I bought the NYX Professional Makeup Lip IV Hydrating Gloss Stain in Blush Rush after borrowing a friend’s for a wedding, and I absolutely love it. The shade is flattering and versatile, with a beautiful wet-shine finish that looks polished without feeling heavy or sticky. It’s very comfortable to wear and genuinely hydrating, thanks to the vitamins and coconut water. The pigment is impressive, and even after the gloss fades, there’s a soft stain that lasts for hours. It’s such a hit that now my daughter uses it too. Definitely a favorite in our house and something I’d happily repurchase.
