This really is a natty little blast of retro power. Beautiful crystal clear screen, insane amount of games (if wonky selection), and great features such as fast-forward mode and save states, plus a surprisingly sturdy build for such a wallet-friendly price point. Twin sticks and back buttons - with admittedly fiddly options to remap - melt into your palm. Long play times are likely to include cramp, however. This thing’s not crafted with big bear paws in mind.Some of the N64 titles take a performance battering (007 GoldenEye, I’m looking at you), whilst any DS game suffers inevitably from the lack of second screen. So you wonder why they bothered including them, outside of bumping up the numbers for marketing.That said, this is an absolute steal (probably literally, given the software is about as legal as a £7 note), and worth a punt for anyone with a few quid to spare who fancies a taste of gaming’s past.

Good device, lots of preloaded games. Plays up to Playstation/Dreamcast era smoothly.Buttons decent, nothing special but function well.Screen came lightly scratched. Not sure if there's a screen protector on it, looks like there might be, haven't been brave enough to pull it off. Other than that would be 5 star value.

Sent the item back on the 20th of April for a refund as its not good, and now Been told that I have to wait three months for a refund, absolutely ridiculous,especially from a item that's dispatched from amazon, am totally boycotting amazon from now on

Great for playing retro games . Thousands of classic games for various platforms .Bright colour screen . Can personifies the display to show the various platform and games how you want to see them . Long battery life . Quick to charge . Speakers are very loud too . Can connect headphones if needed .No issues found so not sure why others have found some .Highly recommend this game system . 5*

Ordered 2 of these for the boys birthday (not for me to play honest) I wasn't expecting them to be brilliant for the price but so far I'm very impressed, great selection of games, Gameboy SNES N64 mega drive, everything really, nice bright screen, well made and didn't realise they came with a rechargeable battery when I ordered. Only had them a few days but all the games I have tried have worked fine, I expect I'll find a few that won't but with so many games it won't bother me at all. In short I think they're great, if you're into retro gaming well worth the money and I don't think my boys will get much of a look in

For £50 for a console (got in an offer)with 256gb card included running ArkOS can not complain to much , so far all working ok I did WiFi update with dongle cost another £4 all went okay so far. Is cheaper if get direct from China but need wait longer.Has screen film on when arrives all scratched so need remove it , I bought case from AliExpress for £4 had screen protector and joy caps in it better now , still working fine after few weeks always get games that crash as is rom dump , update I did resolved the battery % issue but seemed to lose 2800 games a strange one maybe something in orginal setup rounded upto 30000. Buttons are stiff and not best control , For price I got on sale is still ok for UK seller.

Item arrived with scratches on the screen and didn't turn on

Although called an “r40 pro”, this is in fact an r36s running ArcOS 2, just in a slightly different case. It’s great. Loads of different manufacturers make these and some of them are fake, but this is the real deal. If you don’t know what an r36s is, you should look it up - there is a huge online community of people using and modding these things. I would highly recommend getting a couple of branded micro SD cards, backing up the supplied card and doing a fresh install. It’s easy and there are loads of guides online about how to do it and the best SD cards to use. Any reviews that say this thing has failed is probably just because the card supplied with them is usually of low quality and should be backed up and changed before it gets corrupted. You can get a r36s console much cheaper from a certain other website, but they can take weeks or months to be delivered from China. If you want Amazon’s fast delivery and awesome return policy, it might be worth paying the extra and ordering from here. There are THOUSANDS of cool retro games included from loads of different consoles and it works great. If you like tinkering it’s really easy to get even more games from loads of different platforms running on it. Highly recommended.
