Really good, just like gold!
Took awhile to get to me and frankly, didn’t know what to expect. I’m used to drinking Sumatran coffee, which uses a “wet hull” processing. Not sure what exactly it entails but almost every brand of Sumatran I’ve tried was decent. However, I wanted to find an adequate replacement should the cost for the Sumatran continue to go up and what seems like less production.I ordered this based solely on the region it came from. The ratings were helpful but a lot of the ratings don’t go into much detail and everyone’s palate is different, so for the price, why not. Plus I liked how the bag looked.I waited a little over a month for this to arrive but when I opened it, it was fresh, so no biggie. My first taste of this after grinding the beans and brewing in my basic Mr.Coffee coffee maker, I was pleasantly surprised. It was very tasty, smelled delicious, and started my mornings nicely. I drink my coffee black so I’m definitely picky when it comes to coffee. This one has a smooth flavor, not bitter at all, and keeps me energized like the Sumatran. The value was also a good one, with a pot of coffee costing me the equivalent of one Starbucks coffee, maybe less. I just wish Amazon would bring the 5# bag in more frequently. Ordering directly from their website adds on additional costs for shipping, which Amazon doesn’t have as aPrime member.I will definitely order more of this brand, especially when the 5# bags areback in stock. I’d definitely love to try their Sumatran! It’s probably Good as Gold!

Very nice and lovely Costa Rican coffee of a new brand
I haven't started using this coffee yet, but I have previously tried Costa Rican coffees of different brands and love it a lot, it has smooth and mellow taste.

Tarrazu Whole Beans
I’ve been trying various Costa Rica Tarrazu beans and came across this one. My brewing method is espresso with a Breville Barista Express. These beans are advertised as medium roast but it’s more of a dark roast compared to other medium roasts. The beans noticeably much darker brown similar to dark roast beans. After a few brews I found the ideal grind size of 4 with 18grams. The first thing I noticed was the semi sweet taste with the initial sip but it had a burnt bitter aftertaste which my wife and I did not like. We tried with the drip method and was about the same with a less intense flavor.I’m not sure if this batch of beans was just not roasted properly but it was kind of a disappointment. If not for the burnt bitter aftertaste. This would be a pretty good coffee bean at a good price range.
