Can it remove old stains? Some, yes. This works best on fresh spills or day old stains. It can work on older stains, especially if you pretty much drench it in the stuff and soak it. I had a pair of pants I was going to cut up or throw away because of a cat throw up stain. I really didn't want to because I freaking love these pants. The stain is still there, I mean, I tried to get it out with other things. This spray reduced the stain to a faint discoloration area. I wish I took before and after photos. Will it remove everything, I don't expect that capability from ANY product. But this saved my pants where other products couldn't so I give it 5 stars for doing the best freaking job! I also love their detergent too. Highly recommend Active line in general. Sensitive skin girlie here, grew up in a tide and true house hold, but Active won my heart by offering the laundry detergent sheets at a good price point and easy to recycle packaging. This product is packaged in plastic, but there aren't to many options for liquids tbh.

Gets stains out instantly

Typically, if I can’t get a stain out out, it’s not coming out. Wrong! I was able to get a stain out of one of my favorite t-shirts using this Active stain remover when none of my historically proven methods worked.

I sprayed this in a sweater that had a little makeup on the collar and it discolored the sprayed area ruining my sweater.

I have two very messy kids, so fortunately I had plenty of different stains in which to test this Messy Kids Stain Remover by Active. I had high hopes for it with the first spray. The stains seemed brighter, as if they were ready to come off the clothes. I sprayed generously and I was impressed with how much was still in the bottle. The atomizer in the spray nozzle head was really putting in work! Okay, now the real test - what were the results when I pulled them out of the wash?- My white dress shirts: Going in, lots of dark sweat stains on the collar and sleeve holes, and some random small coffee stains on the shirts themselves. After washing? Coffee stains gone! Sweat stains either gone or much lighter! I'm impressed!- Snot stain on the shoulder of a hoodie. Having a little one means lots of stains on my shoulders, where they hold on while I'm carrying them. After washing? Still there despite it being on there only a day. Disappointment.- Chocolate stains, also on shoulder. I really need to make these kids wash their hands before picking them up. After washing? Still there! I was surprised. This was fresh that day, the freshest of the stains, and the spot remover did nothing. Very disappointed. Another stain turned from brown to red when sprayed and then yellow after coming out of the wash. Not sure what's going on there.Overall? It's great at removing sweat stains, but seems pretty weak at removing others. But if you've got some shirts with ring around the collar, you might want to give this a try.
