UPDATE TO ORIGINAL REVIEW:Quick background: I had acne as a teen which led to me always researching skincare lines, seeing dermatologists, always look for the best options, etc. Fast forward to being 38, I have tried several skincare lines to include Neutrogena, Men’s Clinique, Paula’s Choice, and Derma e.Based on the reviews and that this product us all natural, I decided to give it a try. Initially, I loved it. The smell is awesome, the products are great, there are many options, etc. I used most options in this line (toner, daily moisturizer, daily moisturizer with sunscreen, anti-aging cream, charcoal and gel facewashes, etc). After 3 months I found that my skin did not look the same in comparison to when I started. I looked “dull”, my sun spots started to come out, and my skin did not look even. Due to this, I decided to switch back to my favorite line (Derma e, which is also natural). After switching back for just two weeks, my skin started looking much better, more color, and skin tones evening out.If you are a guy and you have never tried other skin care products, this line will do wonders for your skin because you are actually using creams and such for your face. Of course this will be better than using bar soap and no lotions. When reading reviews it seems those super happy with this line have never used skin care products before.

I first tried Brickell by ordering their sample pack. I was looking for a men’s skincare line that was natural, didn’t have nasty stuff (parabens, phthalates, sulfates, chemicals), and did a great job. After trying the daily defense moisturizer I decided to order it. Here’s what I love: 1. it is not greasy and it absorbs quickly. 2. It has a natural sunscreen (zinc and titanium) but doesn’t go on thick or stay “white” like other natural sunscreens. 3. It keeps my face from being dry. I was hesitant about the price versus the size of the bottle, but honestly, it takes a pea sized amount to cover my entire face so one bottle will last me more than the the three months it claims. I will say, and maybe this is because it is all natural, I would shake it up before you use it as I have found it separates a bit. All in all this is a great product and I will buy it and more of their products again.

Overall I love this moisturizer! The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is listed below. I realize this is an issue with most mineral based sunscreens, but I was hopeful this one would be different. Brickell Men's Daily Defense Face Moisturizer for Men, Natural and Organic Zinc Based SPF 15 is a solid face moisturizer, it is not too think and goes on smoothly. Face feels refreshed when using it but doesn't last too long. Also leaves a white residue on the face, so use sparingly. Brickell has created an improved version of this with SPF 20 and that does not leave a residue. I would recommend using that product over this one.

The lotion is my go to. It is the perfect compliment to the anti aging routine each morning. I put it on and don’t have to worry about sun damage the rest of the day. Brickell does an amazing job with how well this product moisturizes skin.

Overall I like this product and plan on using it as part of my everyday routine. It does seem to be a little thicker lotion than what I was used to using and it has a bit of an odd scent to it but that goes away after a couple minutes of it being applied. I have enjoyed many Brickell products and while this may not be favorite one I will use it as part of the daily routine.

I love the smell and texture of this product. I've used other moisturizers in the past but this feels clean and healthy with natural ingredients. Face feels refreshed after application. Must have product for the average "guy" ...

This one did not work for me. It is a great product but the SPF 15 makes its consistency a bit heavy. But, if you need the UVA protection, this product is for you. I love the Daily Essential face moisturizer, no SPF15, but I am not outside too much so this one works better for me.
