Surprising CD player in such a small package! This is not the heavy duty 'boom box' from the 90's. The Greadio CD player is lightweight but comes with so many full features. First, it has power cord and battery power. (6 'C' batteries). Second, it truly is lightweight which is a convenience for carrying outside to the park. Third, are all the ways to play music on this device! The CD Player. FM radio with auto scanning! And then both USB MP3 input and Bluetooth. If that's not enough, you can plug in Aux device with the included cord. The sound quality is exceptional both with CD's and Bluetooth. Now, you won't get deep booming bases but you will have quality sound at low, medium and full volume. The controls are easy to read on the front panel. The CD player is on the top of the unit and easy to access. My fat fingers did have to get use to lifting out the CD from the top but that wasn't a deal breaker. The are many functions fully detailed in the paper manual including playback modes, CD programming, FM scanning. Just be sure to read the manual for the full details. I really don't say this about many products I purchase but this is a winner right out of the box and makes a great gift for kids as well!

It is a small boombox with a lot of pluses. The sound is clear and the boombox has tremendous volume. It does not have deep bass but it is adequate, especially for such a small player. Everything works well. The radio reception is impressive. Recommend this boombox.

I purchased the Greadio Boombox Portable CD Player because I was looking for a small portable radio with USB function to use in my bedroom and to take along on trips. I am very picky when it comes to sound quality of small units, but I thought I would give this radio a try. And after trying it out, I absolutely LOVE this portable player. The sound quality is amazingly good despite of its small compact size. The sound is rich and clear. The unit is small, lightweight and portable. So far I have only used it with the power cord, but it can also be used with batteries to take along on trips or to different rooms. It is very easy to operate. It comes with instructions that are easy to understand. I love the USB stick feature. I have a ton of CDs and added them to a USB flash drive. When you select the USB function, it will immediately start playing the music. You can select playing the music in order, just random songs from one folder, or all folders in random order. Since I use it in my bedroom, I especially love the sleep timer feature. You can choose 90 minutes or less and the unit will automatically turn off once the time passed. It does not come with a remote control, but the buttons on the unit are easy to use and the LED display is good to read. The only complaint I have is that it does not have AM radio. It has a FM radio with manual controls and an antenna. The radio stations are easy to find and the sound is fantastic. It also plays CDs and has Bluetooth. I can highly recommend this player.

Small but nice

It has been many, many years since I have bought a boombox, and I can't believe how small and lightweight they are now! This was purchased as a gift for my 20-something son who has a small collection of CDs from years ago but no way to play them. The sound is not top-tier but I really didn't expect that from a small, portable unit. My son has a high-quality external speaker that's easily connected via aux cable to get fantastic sound. And because this CD player also takes batteries, he has the option of using it either plugged in at home or on the go. It will serve its purpose well!

Functions as it should. Sound quality is a little lower than I had hoped but for the price it is pretty good!

Works just fine so far. Is light and portable. Plays cds just fine.Sounds fine. Easy to get battery door open. Volume works fine. Easy to use.

For anyone who still enjoys throwing in a CD and letting the music fill the room, this unit delivers solid performance in a sleek, lightweight package. Pros: • Super lightweight — It doesn’t have a built-in lithium battery, which probably explains the low weight. It runs on C-type batteries (not included), making it easy to carry around for outdoor use if you have those on hand. • Impressive sound quality for the size — The footprint is a bit bigger than a standard CD case, but the highs and mids are crisp, and the sound remains clean even at higher volumes. Don’t expect booming bass, but what it does offer is well-balanced and pleasant. • User-friendly — You can get it up and running without even cracking the manual. The buttons are intuitive, and the overall layout is smartly designed. By trial and error I even figured out how to save and load preset radio stations. • Shockproof CD playback — This feature is no gimmick. I tested it during a short car ride, and the music didn’t skip, even over potholes. You’d have to really shake it hard to make it stutter. • Convenient front-facing ports — Unlike many boomboxes that tuck USB or AUX ports in the back, this one keeps everything upfront and easy to access. Small touch, but it makes a difference. • Excellent customer service — I had an issue with a different Greadio product and their rep Lois was fantastic — quick to respond and genuinely helpful. That kind of support builds loyalty, and it’s a big reason I came back to Greadio. Cons: • The CD lid doesn’t open very wide, which can make it tricky for those with larger hands to load/unload discs. • The LED display stays on when a CD stops playing, unless you use the sleep timer. I wish there was an option to turn the display or the backlight off manually. • Bass is modest — not completely absent, but probably not enough to satisfy those who want deep, thumping lows. • No remote control, no Bluetooth transmitter (the player can work as a Bluetooth receiver, though) — not dealbreakers, but it would’ve been a nice addition for modern convenience. Most of the cons are either design trade-offs or personal preferences, and none of them are serious enough to take away from the overall experience. For a compact, well-rounded boombox, this is a great little machine. Whether you’re listening to CDs, plugging in via AUX, or streaming through Bluetooth or USB, it’s got everything you need for casual listening. It’s not aimed at audiophiles, and that’s perfectly fine. Sometimes, all we want is something simple that works, and this hits the mark.
