Superb film, an excellent true to the book effort
I'm a "Christmas Carol" fanatic and I rate this one very highly. Now, if like me, you're an idiot and don't read the description properly - thinking this is the 3D with the paper glasses included, then like me, you'll still end up with a thumping good blu ray copy and a digital copy to watch on your computer or convert to DVD disk.Crystal clear blu ray, with some lovely effects and creepy bits that children love.My youngest is 2 and he just adores this film, you can tell it's filmed for 3d, but this doesn't hinder your enjoyment in the least. I'd say for children who aren't gruesome, like my boys, you need to be watching this first, as some of the scenes with Marley and the ghost of the Christmas present and future are quite creepy, so a sweet child could be scared.Overall, this is just a lovely version of a Christmas Carol, very faithful to the book and not a "twee" cartoon, by any means. Well worth a watch, even if, like myself you buy the wrong versions! Doh. Still, it was a bargain and worth it!

Wow what a 3D title
Having purchased a 3D TV and Blu Ray package a few months ago, I now try to acquire 3D versions of Blu Ray's I am purchasing.First the only niggle I will say is. This film comes with 3 disks, the first is a Blu Ray disk (which contains the 2D version), a digital copy that you can put onto your computer of add it to iTunes and from there add it to your iPad etc (I have not done this, has I don' have an iPad yet so I cannot comment any further regarding the digital copy) the other disk is the 3D version. The thing is though, this 3D version/disk can be played on a normal 2D TV, the reason I know this is because I am able to press the 3D button on my TV's remote control and thus switch the 3D off and watch the 3D Blu Ray disk in 2D. It seems a bit unnecessary to provide an additional Blu Ray disk which contains a 2D version in light of what I have mentioned and perhaps if this unnecessary disk was not included the price could have been slightly less. Anyhow, back on topic and on with the review. From the opening Disney titles you will be blown away with the 3D effects in this film. All through the film the 3D effects are outstanding, I was most amazed at the falling snow, this was an amazing effect in 3D. Another memorable 3D effect for me was when scrooge points his finger and with the 3D effect it jumps out of the screen. The picture quality is A1/top marks, the detail, animation are outstanding. I am not usually a big fan of animated films, but since getting this I have watched it twice. The 3D definitely gives the film that extra something.I paid £17.99 for this has I pre ordered at the same time Alice In Wonderland 3D, and at the time Amazon were doing an offer (maybe still are?). At £17.99 I feel that it is well worth it.I defy anyone to watch this and to not be amazed at the 3D effects and the outstanding picture quality. A point to remember with this film is that its 3D Blu Ray, it is not the 3D type that allows you to watch it with those paper glasses with the coloured lenses (anaglyph 3D). To watch this you need a 3D TV and a Blu Ray player that can play 3D Blu Ray's.If you have a 3D TV and a Blu Ray player then you owe it to yourself to see this.Simply outstanding!

Excellent
Worth watching it. Very nice concept and moral. It can change someone’s life. Very practical story but presented in animated form which doesn’t look realistic. Could have made better.

Aired every year as a Christmas tradition
Love this accurate re-telling of an old classic. Jim Carey's slapstick style was wearing a little thin after Cable Guy, and loving this timeless Dickens classic from reading as a child I bought this 3D version with some trepidation, initially for the visual effects... How wrongly judgemental could I have been. In his restraint, this gifted actor oozes respect for the original narrative, layering appropriate light and shade in his portrayal of Scrooge, and the Christmas ghosts. Hats off to the whole production team. The graphics in their contrast seduce you into the Dickensian Christmas card-like scenes, with a sense of realism that almost makes you forget you're watching computerised imagery. The 3D effects are suitably stunning and pointedly used. The drama builds accordingly to a thrilling pace, and the heart strings are pulled. I now consider this my definitive screen version of this popular tale, which has been aired every year since its Blu Ray release as a Christmas family tradition.
