It's heavy...but
While it is heavy, particularly with the battery installed, the shoulder strap makes it usable. it is very powerful and uses the same batts I have with my mower (also excellent). Did my whole yard with 2 bars still showing. Used my blower to finish. Charges very quickly. Very pleased.

Nice addition to go with my mower.
To be honest I bought this more for the additional battery and charger so I'd have adequate charge to mow my entire (somewhat large) lot without needing to wait 15 minutes for a battery to finish charging. That said, this is a darn nice weed eater. It's design let's you have either a 12 or 14 inch cut and the comprehensive instruction manual includes both configurations. As a test and to impress life skills I had my one perienced son assemble it and he had zero problems. The 72v provides plenty of oomph for even the thickest grass that chokes my drainage in the wet weeks of late spring. It's bulkier than our previous electric weed-eater but on par with the conventional one. Battery life is sufficient for our needs but if you have more than 25 minutes of thick grass to fight through, you'll likely run out.The flexibility of attachments are nice as well. I bought the pole saw a nd extra length to prune my trees without having to fight with cordsAll in all, changing between ends is easy as pie and I'm extremely pleased with my purchase.

Only used once but worked great
Works great and don’t have to worry about gas and oil. I had to rewind the spool though. Wasn’t wound right.

Finally An E Trimmer Worth Writing About
When my 4 cycle trimmer finally died, I went with this unit. It's been on the market a while, had fairly good reviews and has an entire arsenal of attachments and products that the battery system can be used with. After a lot of comparing, went with Snapper 82V. It does great around the house, moving from gas to electric I had my doubts but this thing surpassed all my expectations. Things I noticed right away was less kickback, less damage around things I'm trimming, less debris flying at me, nothing to start. I have about a 1/2 acre lot with lots of trees and flower beds etc. to trim around and I didn't even use half the 2 Amp Hour battery. Ok, good around the house, now for a real test... brushing Jeep trails! This thing is amazing, sure it can't knock down big bush brush, but it takes out everything else with ease. The battery is super impressive! Now I see snapper makes a brush head too so that would fit the bill perfectly. It's super easy to restring too with the Italian head design. Not having to carry gas in the Jeep is a huge safety bonus, with a few batteries I could brush lots of trails with ease!

Heavy, cumbersome, and impossible to find parts
I have an 82V electric mower, which I really like. I thought since it shared a battery type with this trimmer, I'd give it a try. After using it for a couple years, I'm very dissatisfied with the purchase. With the battery installed, the unit is very uncomfortable to use and cumbersome to carry. There's no pre-wound line spool anywhere, and for that matter, it's all but impossible to find parts for either the mower or the trimmer online. My local dealership has been unable to help me, because they don't carry the parts in stock and have to order from the same places I've tried ordering online. I tried snapper.parts, but ended up having to cancel my order after three months of delays.Knowing what I know how about how difficult/impossible it is to find Snapper parts, I would not purchase another Snapper product, nor would I recommend anyone else do so. My next electric lawn tools will be Greenworks or some other manufacturer.

Be safe, respect your tools
I like it, does the job very well, hopefully the battery lasts for over a year, gotta be careful not letting the battery reach one bar, or you'll be on the edge of a dead battery, and charger refuses to charge w/flashing red, keep indicators on 2 bars then charge again. Don't use w/only one bar of charge, use w/4 bars of charge. Don't understand lithium should last 3 to 4 years. But these only has little charge off the box. Look at date on box, no more than 1 year. Battery should have life. And it's so easy to use, awesome.

Works great for my needs
Works well for my smallish suburban yard. Does what it says: Trims around the trees and around edging. Knocks down grasses at the fence-line and along the driveway. And does it all on a single charge. I've yet to run out of charge, even after swapping the battery over to my hedge trimmer to touch up the bushes. If you run a lawn service, or have a huge yard, or your heavy weed needs require the power of a brush hog, maybe you should look elsewhere (or at least get an extra battery). But that's not me.The only con is that it's a little heavy in comparison to a similarly capable gas trimmer. But I prefer that to the hassle of mixing, storing and pouring small-engine fuel, and to battling the pull-start. And I don't smell like small-engine exhaust when I'm done. All-in-all, I'm quite happy with it.

Happy so far with string trimmer
I bought this to do trimming with but have had to use it twice to "cut" my yard because the lawn mower I have ordered has been delayed in shipping several times. So far I have been pleased with the product although I have used it far more than I thought I would have to. My yard isn't that large but I have been able to trim everything without recharging the battery. The battery recharges quickly
