I had no problem installing this by connecting the neutral/white wire to the ground wire in the wall box and leaving the green/ground wire not connected to anything (needles to say the black/live and red/load wires were connected to the original wires in the box).Once power was reconnected, it was super easy to setup and link to my existing Smart Life account, instructions were clear and easy to understand (despite the pretty bad English) and all was up an running within minutes.My only concern with this switch is that while the light is on, the led on the switch lights up red, and when it's off, it lights up green, these seem like a strange configuration. I'm not sure why any led needs to be on when the light is on.Since I already had my Smart Life account linked to my Google Assistant account, I had to de-link it and re-link it for Google to find my new switch.Overall this is a great switch, works great, easy to install, looks great, and is compatible with regular decora face-plates if you want to use another plate other than the one supplied. When I need more, I will likely buy another of these.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I purchased one of these to test and in a matter of 3-4 weeks I ended up installing one for every switch in the house. These are a better option than smart bulbs, because you always have a "hands on" option to turn the lights on-off. With smart bulbs, if you turn the lights off using the wall switch, you can't turn them back on with the app. With these you can use either one interchangeably.The Smart Life app is very user friendly as well. You can easily set endless smart scenes, and even automate the lights to turn on-off based on factors like: sunrise, sunset, rain, snow, time of day, what other lights or light-groups are on/off at the time, etc. And it's very easy to integrate with Amazon Echo as well.

Love this smart light switch! Instructions were easy to follow and it only took me about 20 minutes to put it together. I can easily set a timer for when I am on vacation, to make it look like someone is home, as well as control it from my phone or Alexa.

Works great , drilled natural ground wire into metal outlet box and no issues now for old 2 wire outlet .

It’s great smart light. I can set time on and off and also can turn off anytime by phone. I installed wrong upside down but it’s okay it looks good. I don’t want to reinstall bc it was hard for me do it again. I am strongly recommend.

I bought these WIFI smart switches to replace aging timers I had on my 4 outdoor lights. I bought on impulse because they were exactly what I was looking for and really inexpensive. Upon receiving the switches I noticed that they had high end packaging - like an iPhone. The switches inside looked reasonable enough. I started to read the instructions to install the switches and to connect them to the Smart Life App. I became concerned when I read sentences like: "First, long press the button about 5 seconds." Clearly the instructions were written by someone with a less than fluent acquaintance with English. The app betrays the same weakness in terms of its English explanations.That being said, after de-cyphering the instructions, the switches went in just as described and worked once installed. Similarly, after familiarizing myself with the app I was able to automate the switches any way I could imagine. The Smart Life App seems to be a very good piece of software - easy to use and very capable in terms of programming and controlling the switches.The final hurdle was to link my switches through my Echo, and once again, the biggest hurdle proved to be the instructions. Once I sorted out what the instructions were trying to tell me, Alexa was able to control my four light switches.I am very satisfied with this purchase. The switches were exactly what I wanted - automation without a required hub or bridge. The switches were cheap, and installed easily. Finally, the Smart Life App proved to be a useful and well-crafted App to control my home automation experiment. Don't be put off by the instructions. They are a little inscrutable, but are the only flaw in an otherwise excellent product.

My husband is not an electrician but he was able to install this in about half hour. We got this so that we could set up our bedroom light with our Google Home so that we can easily say “Hey Google, turn off the bedroom light” without having to get up and turn off the light manually, especially when we’re really tired and too lazy to get out of bed! There is also an app that you can download on your smartphone to control the light switch as well which is convenient. With this app, you can control remotely and turn off/on as we need or like. We want to get other smart light switches for our living room so that we can turn on the light remotely for our dog in case we’re out late and forget to leave a light on. Hopefully we are able to find options with double light switches since many of our light switches at home are double or triple, and not single.
