This is the one...
What a great tool. Does not come with the dust bag or the required bag adaptor but they are available here cheap. Bag works great. Used it in side to fit a few doors. No dust.

Awesome planer
The planer is of very good quality, its materials are excellent, it's very strong, the plastics have good grip, it is assembled in the USA, the only thing I don't like is that the cable gets bent in the box and will end up getting damaged over time. Look the image.

Great planer, better than expected
I am an experienced Do It Yourselfer type with appreciation for quality tools.Inatalling solid wood doors requires a planer. Originally purchased the popular Bosch 1594K with adjustable fence. I own many quality Bosch tools and have high regard for them. The Bosch 1594K was immediately returned when the fence could not adjust to 90 degrees. This is a show stopper #1. Show stopper #2 was that the two planes were not parallel. Show stopper #3 was that 0" depth of cut was not 0" depth. On top of that the plane surfacess were scratched and not exactly smooth.I can not believe Bosch designed this turkey, probably found one and attached their name to it.The Makita KP0800K by contrast was perfect. Solid, well made, smooth and as accurate as a planer in this price range can be. Smooth cuts, no digging at start and end of "run" (I forgot the word for this common problem). A great, smooth, easy to use planer. Wish I had bought one a long time ago.To aid me with the 2 to 3 degree beveling of door edges, I also ordered the Makita adjustable fence "Makita 123060-6 Bevel Guide For N1900B Planer" from Amazon of course. Despite the fence's title, it is designed to ALSO attach to the Makita KP0800K not just the N1900B. This fence is solid, has large surface area and locks in the adjustment. And yes it adjusts to 90 degrees. By comparison the Bosch fence was complicated and not solid at all.We would all rather buy the $600 Porter Cable with 3 spiral cutters, but I'll leave that to the pros that earn a living working solid wood door slabs. This Makita is an excellent well designed and built planer, an excellent value.

A Mighty Mite
This is a great tool. I have been amazed at what it can do. I got it to help me whittle down a large piece of cherry log that I am turning on the lathe. It is very hard wood and this planer handles it with ease. It is lightweight and easily manageable for big projects like this. I was tempted by the cordless models, but since I will only use it in my shop it was not worth the greatly added expense.A word of advice. I assume that if you are looking for this corded model that you will be using it, primarily, indoors. This machine produces a lot of shavings and fine sawdust and it will be a big mess for your shop if you do not use a vacuum system. And, unfortunately, as you will see in many reviews here, it is very difficult to find a hose adapter that will fit many, if not most, shop vacs. This is the only reason I could not give it five stars. There may be usable adapters out there but I was not able to find one. I was able to adapt the discharge port with 1" wide two-sided tape covered with a very thin strip of packing foam for a perfect, secure fit. Given all the advantages of this mighty little tool, I think it is worth the effort to engineer an adapter for it.

Works well
We are a mostly Makita family and this planer has done a good job on the jobs we have used it on so far. Even better I found it $30 cheaper on Amazon than at Home Depot so we are happy.

Wow
OK so this is not a tool that you’re likely to use every day but it is great. Extremely versatile. Had to trim some 6x6 posts to fit into metal brackets and it made short work of it. I’m not easy to impress but I am with this tool. Looking forward to using it for other projects. Beware when buying extra blades though. I bought a spare set of blades that were said to fit it and they weren’t even close.

This was an essential tool to level deck joists
I was adding joists to an existing deck framework. It's impossible to secure them in place entirely flush with the top of the original joists. This planer solves that. It generates a lot of shavings. I mean , a LOT. THat's not a fault but certainly an observation. I am totally pleased with this purchase.
